I mean....Toyota doesn't make the u-joints. Most are Spicer or similar. And it's not like they cheaped out.

Someone cheaped out somewhere cause ujoints used to last 10+ years now you can't even look at them wrong or they'll go bad

Yours might. But I can tell you for certain that the '15 PR does not have zerks.

At some point they eliminated them

Your reading skills are somewhat lacking aren't they? Or you didn't read my post at all. I'll help you. Here is what I said with the important part bolded, colored and underlined.:

" That isn't always true. My 2012 has zerk fittings from the factory... The only way to know for sure is to check. "

Many 2012 Prerunners did not have zerks, then again some do.

Now you say that you know for certain that all 2015 Prerunners do not have zerk fittings.

I doubt you know for certain. Maybe you meant to say that yours doesn't have zerk fittings.

greasing them regularly doesn't mean greasing them properly, Spicer u joints need to have all 4 caps on the u joint purged with new grease in order to PROPERLY be greased, on my truck ive noticed sometimes not all 4 caps purge the old grease and I have to realign the driveshaft to release some pressure on the joint to finally get all to purge. https://spicerparts.com/resources/lube-torque-specs

A good point, but all universal joints need all 4 caps purged.

Something else is wrong. I put 100k on a set of u-joints in my '13 and they were still perfectly fine when it was totaled. 15 sets in 3 years would be like every 3 months.

I agree just got to make sure all 4 u joint caps are purging new grease to insure proper lubrication on the Taco joints. mine are giving me a little trouble sometimes to where in move the truck to realign the shaft or I try to pushup on the drive shaft to relieve the pressure on the joint, I always thought(wrongly) that you just pump grease into the joint to the point of seeing new grease spilling out,

And your people skills are nonexistent.

No '15 PRs have Zerks from the factory. I'll reiterate what I said. At some point Zerks were eliminated on PRs

Most 2012 Prerunners had no zerk fittings in the universal joints, but some did and do.

I'll stand by my statement that the only way to know for sure is to check. Unless you have some valid proof that all 2015 Prerunners come without zerk fittings.

Do you have any proof that all 2015 Prerunners have no zerks from the factory?

I trail my truck every weekend thru mud, water and whatever else is there and I put a beating on it but I do the same with my 90 pickup and guess what never had to replace the 90s

That's not proof of anything. LOL :)

It says exactly the same thing in my 2012 Prerunner maintenance manual.

    I'll get a screen shot.

This is from the 2012 maintenance guide. As you can see it says the same thing. But here we are that some Prerunners have zerk fittings and some do not. And the only way to know for sure is to look and see. I don't understand why you are fighting this lost cause so hard.

Let me know when you really have some real proof that supports your argument that no 2015 Prerunners have zerk fittings.
