I did. The sheriff deputy agreed it looks like a BB. He asked if I wanted to file a report about it and I said yep, sure do. Irritating because I haven’t even had it for 1 month yet. I think I’ll be avoiding that road for a while.

Yeah, Commiefornia has different blends. It’s freaking ridiculous. I slowed down to 60 mph, used “sport shifting” and got 17.4 on the way home from the gas station (about 12 miles). I’ve considered running higher octane fuel as well as going to Chevron or Shell instead of the Pilot, could be less quality gas.

Thanks for all the feed back and ideas, y’all.

There may be some better choices. The fronts had no support between the inner edge and the wheel well, so I added a piece of PVC tube as a riser and used like a 2-inch screw. This setup is rubbing a little on the new 265/75 tires. Lift is coming in Feb that should solve that. Other than that, they are good, pliable and holding up well for over a year now.

Hit by the door opening when they were responding to an emergency. Could have been way worse.

    Good morning :pccoffee:

The technician was real cool about everything too, he answered all my questions about oil, air filter, transmission fluid, and such. I’ve had excellent customer service at this Toyota dealership, except for the one time I wanted the TSB 62-18 ...LOL. Even re-balanced and rotated all my tires yesterday and did not charge me…

Added a cap that kinda fits but should keep the snow out, and put my equipment box back in.

A rodent chewed up the fuel pump & a safety switch on my Kubota zero turn, it took us a couple days to track it down...finally found that it also chewed a wire into on the fuse box. It was a pain, to be polite about it lol. $400 sounds like a lot of money, those mechanics know how to track things from the part back to the switches and power supply. I'd be ok with paying the shop minimum. It's merry Christmas time too...I've paused my mods until January. Chances are the rodent will revisit your truck if you don't put out a rat/squirrel/rodent trap- live/glue/or whatever you prefer.

You might look into Dyna Beads...here's a link to the company website- http://innovativebalancing.com/service.htm#AppInstall

It works great for hard to balance tires...bias/mudders/aggressive all terrains/equipment and such. It's simple to install through the valve stem. I hope you figure out the vibration issue soon.

Yeah the price seems pretty high to splice a wire back, so when I asked they said it was for labor because it took them a few hours to find it. I'm going to ask them to show me where the wire is when I pick it up.

Stopped by Menards last night a bought 6 traps; 4 of them had a dead mouse this morning. My garage is detached and surrounded by trees, so I'm not surprised.

In related news, these mouse traps are awesome!

After a nice long drive last night my taco feels like it drives excellent, even shifting feels better. The front lift blocks firmed up the front end just right. Hope to see my alignment guy tonight.

    DSC_0194.jpg
    DSC_0195.jpg

Pics of the non taco lean side, level almost perfect. No more fender liner scrub with my offset wheels.

Instead of using the longer studs supplied with the blocks, I took the lazy mechanic way out and used different hardware.

Sure he was not the service advisor? My service advisor is well read up on Tacoma's also. I never saw who laid hands on my truck. Only got to talk with the service advisor about my front end clunk.

Normally I only get to speak with an adviser as well.

With that said, I kept having the same issue with my 1st gen. On the 3rd or 4th visit the service tech came out to speak to me. He was/is a Master tech, and wanted to hear directly from me what symptoms I was experiencing and how he could replicate the issue. After speaking to me he finally found the issue that the "normal" tech could not seem to find. He took time to explain to me not only what the problem was, but also why it was difficult to pin down, what was required to fix it detailing parts needed and typical time to perform the work.

My point here is, who you discuss the problem with may depend on the requested service and dealership's service department. It took me several return visits with the same problem, but each time they "fixed" it or at leas they did something that in turn reduced the symptoms temporarily.
