:poking: All we need is a few Tacoma’s and some maxx trax and we’ll get that honey wagon back to safety.

And maybe a dozer and some tire chains.

Are you traveling from Tejas? Are you going to the main area or others?

was out there this past weekend and loved it. might try to make it back at the end of the month.

That spot where that truck is stuck was a bit icy. We ended up going through lippencott pass at night last saturday and it had snow on it, a little icy in spots. luckily we made it through without issue. Glad we got through and didn't get stuck behind a vehicle like that forcing you to turn around.

Crappy people, don’t know that pupfish are hibernating in the mud there and can’t survive getting dug up. NPS will be using funds up to put in bollards or fencing there now.

Eff the fences and bollards. You know those automatic Gatling gun sentries in the director's cut of Aliens?

Why can’t we have some nice sandworms in the desert? That would be a cure all!

In the mid 90’s I remember the Stovepipe Wells Ranger Station had a “Death Valley Bird Identification Guide” posted on the wall that was actually an ID guide for military aircraft.

    Coming from Texas.
Eureka Dunes area is the most we will do that is far away. Otherwise going to see several of the abandoned mines, Titus Canyon, Race Track, Inyo Mine, Chloride Cliffs
Also doing a place called Devils Fire (Little Finland) in Nevada. Will see about time and might go to Trona Pinnacles

If you're in the Racetrack area make sure you stop in to Lost Burro Mine, it's awesome.

    I'll give one up.
If you take the western entrance route to Chloride don't miss this short spur and short hike. It's a mine with a fair bit of interesting machinery known as the Monarch Mine or the Indian Mine in Monarch Canyon. A tall running waterfall can be found a bit past the mine site.
Copy and paste the coordinates below into the search window of Google Earth. As you zoom in alter the direction of view toward the SE for the best perspective. The intersection of the Monarch Canyon spur and the main road to Chloride (edit, actually .35 miles past the intersection on the main Chloride road) has a spring, might see some Desert Big Horn Sheep and/or the kitties that feed on them. A Google search for "Monarch Mine Death Valley" will yield picks and vids. I lost most of my photo albums to a crash, sorry. All the roads, routes, and path are clearly seen in GE and be mindful of flash flooding potential.

    Just the basics
Camped near there last spring. I was trying to avoid the winds that had come about and that canyon was not much better since it was like a venturi. I lowered the camper that evening. Didn't do much hiking but that area is very cool and I could tell it had a lot of potential. It would not be a good place to get caught in a flash flood.
