After succesfully getting into 4lo (while being in Neutral) I tried to engage the rear locker (still in Neutral) and the light just blinks and doesnt go solid. I was wondering if you have to be in gear (D or R with brake pressed *not moving*) for the locker to succesfully engage. I read the owners manual but am still unsure.

Okay that was kinda rude... you need to turn the steering wheel and slightly roll so the axle splines can line up for the locker to engage. Blinking means it's trying to engage but if fully stopped it can't. It will stop blinking once engaged.
    Turning the wheel is important

Per memory (no manual on my phone, but I do have my personal quick reference card)
Auto says to not be moving at all for 4lo engagement(in neutral).
Manual says less than 2 mph with clutch pressed for 4lo engagement.

On either moving slightly can be necessary

As stated, typically have to move slightly with steering turned to get elocker to engage.

(Reference card is for 2 wheel lo mod, but still has some good info for everybody)

Right yeah I know that little sticker on the door said never to engage the locker with the wheels spinning. But I do know that being stopped in 4lo with the trans in neutral didnt get the locker to engage for me. Maybe being in D would change things

He’s talking about after you press the locker button, sometimes to need move forward or back a bit to get to engage.

I edited my original post and included attachment to be a little clearer.
Read it again after posting, I had not written it very well

    None as of yet
need to roll a bit while turning or do an s bend if you're on a narrow trail. outside wheel spins faster than inside (hence why vehicles have differentials) and once the spline lines up it will lock.

You need to stop then engage then slowly start moving.

You can't lock while moving fast because lockers and gears with speed don't usually end well.

Be in drive or better yet S1 or S2 .Stop, press lock, start moving slowly and turn the wheel a little if it doesn't engage right away
