What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Installed these about 3 months ago and have them set for maximum lift. They feel a little on the hard side since I want the maximum lift but still feel great. Its my daily driver and I'm just as comfortable as I was on the stock springs.

 

whats the brand name and type of your spare I like it

 

The un matching spare is a Vision turbine 16x8 0 offset. My wheels are FN five stars, 16x8 -25! The vision turbine is for sale.

 

When you say max lift are you referring to notch 4 or 5? My plan is to run them at notch 3. Are you also running 5160s in the rear and what's your spring set up? Thanks

 

Okay so I could use some of your opinions on this just for consideration... I got to take a look at the truck today. The subfloor is what’s bent, just by the rear driver’s side underseat storage. They had it all torn down and marked, so here’s what it looks like. Shop owner and the service writer both are saying it’s a nice enough build that I should consider keeping it and repairing. Knowing this, and knowing that mechanically the truck is still perfectly fine and only has 46k miles, would you total it or try to repair?

 

With that low miles. I would fix it. But i have fixed and drove worse. Most of the vehicles i have owned were from salvage auctions. Do they recomended a new cab or cutting out the whole panel n rewelding a new one in.

 

They recommended the cut and weld route, since a new cab cost would definitely throw things into totaling territory, and also because it’s a relatively small area that’s affected this badly.
They also mentioned that welding and reinforcing might actually help to make some of this stronger than it was stock, but I’m not too sure if that’s really something I need to worry about.

 

Yes if the welds are done corectly it will be stronger. Do you know the shop that is doing the work? I wouldnt worry to much if the shop thinks it wont keep you safe they wont recomend doing it. What is the estimated repair cost. Mine was 9k. But i when to school with the shop owner, repaied alot of his vehicles and built an engine or 2 for him.

Got My ADS coilovers in at long last after many hours of being a perfectionist. The adjustment collars are a bit corroded so I’m going to take them somewhere local to see if someone can help me get them adjusted.

With the new springs on, the bumper went on as well. I’m pleased with how the truck looks and rides now. Still a few more projects to go.
