I hear you on that. However the Ford recall has really pissed some folks off. I saw it first hand when I took my Ford Escape in for an oil change at the dealership. I was near the parts department killing time and a guy comes in and starts complaining about his trucks master cylinder leak and that Ford has known about it for years blah...blah...blah and he was steamed about it. Of course he's griping to the wrong person and the wrong department. He went off so loudly for so long that the guys in the back came out to see what was going on. Then he walked to the service department and started over with them. It sounds like he had a close call. I got the impression that when it starts to leak it goes quick and suddenly nonbrakes. The guy had a legit gripe but was going about it the wrong way. But still...

Then when I searched "Ford F-150 master cylinder" it appeared the guy has a legitimate beef.

I'm on the list. Maybe its more to do with production date since it includes 2019s also.

Don’t think location is “the” factor.. my unit is affected, first VIN digit is a 3 and built in August 2018

I was told by a dealer that it’s only a specific package that was affected. As to the truth behind that, I’m not sure.

I don't see what specific package would make a difference since they would all use the same master cylinder. I would maybe beleive OR vs Sport, but I think someone with an OR said they were on the list.

That’s what I was thinking as a package wouldn’t make a difference. As I don’t think a tech package would make a difference in master cylinders. But, I figured I would share anyway. Haha

Well, I do have the tech package, lets test this theory.
For those on the list, please post your production plant, date, trim, 4x2 or 4x4, and tech or premium packages.
Mine is 2018 Sport 2wd double cab, Baja 7/2018 with Tech package.

I would of recommended him putting it into a tree and then lawyering up. That would of got him further than yelling at the guys at the dealer who really can’t do much to help him out

I'm willing to bet that Smitty is working diligently on letting Toyota know about all the issues and is single handedly responsible for the recalls...

Mine is recalled, 2018 SR5 AC V6 4WD, built in Texas 7/2018. If you read the detailed recall notice it says that it affects 18-19 vehicles built in mid Feb to mid November 18. And it doesn't affect all, just ones with the specific suppliers. Not sure if anyone's posted it already, but here it is

Have to check if my 1.5 month old taco falls in this recall category. Too cold to look at the production date right now.
