I’m going with the Yakima 3 person as the shop where I work allows me to get them at an awesome discount.

I just sold my Yakima medium, it was a great tent. Had no complaints about it even after going snow camping. I owned my truck for 2 weeks when I headed up to the Sierras and then a storm hit and it dumped!CB6CFD20-BB5A-4149-B11B-6960EE8EC13D.jpg8F4D2748-3A66-4C38-A585-613BA9B0BC58.jpg

Now that’s impressive. I’m interested in a quality hard shell like yours but there’s other upgrades that I wouldn’t be able to afford right now. “Buy once, cry once” usually applies but I think there’s probably good resale potential for the Yakima later. Maybe less so in my part of the country than yours.

My rack did really well during my 6 day trip through a Death Valley. I hit washboard and dirt roads up to 50mph. I did go around halfway through and tighten bolts as everything was shaking a ton. Because the Diamondback cover is taller I added tough rubber pads under the legs so they wouldn’t rub too much on the top, and it worked well as they were worn by the end. The chase light bar worked really well and the amber lights cut through the dust. I need to lift up the tent another 1/2” as it did hit the shark fin a little on steep maneuvers, no damage just annoying while hauling down the trail. The cargo tray worked great and gave me plenty of storage space and access. All in all, great trip, great rack.

Hey Dave, did overland bound do a rig review with you lately? Nice setup by the way, I'm looking to do kind of the same thing.

Yeah they did, I’ve changed my tent since then and added my chase bar. Obviously didn’t take my bikes to DV :)

Dave, have you considered a roof rack? I’m curious how your bed system will line up.

At this point I haven’t really considered it for a couple reasons. First is that the iKamper hangs over the cab enough that I’d only have the front 2/3 or so available for storage. Secondly I’d have to raise up the iKamper more to get it to clear a rack like Prinsu or Front Runner.

For me I like it more stream lined, but if I run out of room I might see if I can address those issues. But right now with the cargo tray I have a ton of cargo space

Figured that you’ve conpartmentalized and planned ahead enough to not need it. You’ve done a truly awesome job here. I’m toying with the roof rack idea for now.

Too bad the cargo tray has been out of stock. Got my diamond back, and Voodoo rack in though! Can you post a shot of the rear voodoo bracket as you mounted it to that OEM bolt. The OEM bolts back there are much smaller diameter than the bolts for the T Track along the bed. Worried about how strong that will be. Thanks Papadave418

We're going to be getting more of those in soon.

We've been working on some new aluminum products, so I'll have them made all at once.

Well I can say the cargo tray is worth the wait.

So I went out and replaced the OEM bolts with stainless steel as I snapped my OEM bolt. It was a pain to get out. Oh I also went a 1/2” longer than OEM as well.

Thank you so much! I will definitely be doing the same with this bolt, and yes I am willing to wait! Can't wait but can hahaha!

Did u use same diameter bolt or enlarge hole
and rethread it for a larger bolt? Because it's tiny

Awesome build. I def want the DB cover but couldn't find a sold way to mount a bed rack with it. This is awesome!! Thanks for sharing.

Anyone know what the static and dynamic weight rating is on the kb tonneau cover brackets? I'm a big boy at 340 so looking at weight ratings on rtt, bed rack, brackets, etc.
