Have a question

i noticed around 3500 rpm the motor gets a bump in power like a 4 barrel carburetor kicking in if anybody still knows what I’m talking about lol. Is this the vvt kicking in and giving it more power? I also have a mt6.

 

Toyota forgot it's a truck & hid all the power up high in the wrong powerband. Either that or the EPA is coming down too hard on manufacturers to get better MPG's?

that's your ignition timing advancing, what Toyota calls iVVT, Intelligent Variable Valve Timing.

 

I’ve had a mt and auto. It only did it in the mt. The at is pretty gutless all the way to 6500.

 

You have to kick the hamsters in the ass to get em to spin that wheel.

nope. that's lower in rpm, more gradual, and far less dramatic.
