I just did my first oil change at 75k. I can’t believe my truck is running a little funny. I hate this truck!!

Yes sir, I was agreeing with you and continuing your list of motors. Haha . It was the guy who said Toyota hasn't built a dependable motor since the 22re that made a stupid comment. Definitely Not a luxury truck either, you right. Especially with E rated tires haha....rides like a truck

Having had 22R's 22RE's and a 2.7 the 2.7 was the best just shy of 400K not a power house but as dependable as they come I never had so much as the valve cover off. Head gaskets and chains on the R's

That is what they said. It's how they are. I don't remember it feeling this it does on the test drives. It may have... Either way... I hate it.

 

It's all a scam by big oil so they can sell more.

I have a friend who has a relative who gets a new car every few years, and just absolutely destroys it. He does not change the oil for any reason, ever. When the engine inevitably locks up from neglect, he junks it and buys a new one. What a dumbass.

There are one of two options:

1. Toyota's reputation went bye bye with the third gen.

2. People are too stupid and shortsighted to realize that both the first and second gen had their share of problems. This lack of perspective leads people to make incorrect conclusions, or as in the case with the third gen, attempt to hold it to an artificially high standard. Bottom line, it's a truck. It has issues. All vehicles have issues....even the sainted first and second gen Tacomas.

I brought it in for the issues twice prior to putting bilstein/toytech coil overs. I wanted to do that anyway and after they couldn't help me with the vibrations I figured that upgraded shocks might help. It didn't.
