Leveling kit while maintaining factory warranty???

Can it be done? Yes I have done a search and learned all about the different kind of kits on the market. I have not found a thread about how a leveling kit impacts the factory warranty. Yes I could call the dealer to get the answer to this question. However, if the answer is “No”, I may install the kit and uninstall it, if I ever happen to have some sort of problem where my warranty is needed. I’d rather not let the dealer know I’m installing the kit if the answer is “No”. I have heard people say that the dealer has to install the kit. I'm kind of unsure of how I feel about that idea, I’m sure shop rate is around the $100 per hour range and it's a 2 - 3 hour job plus an alignment. All I want to do is raise the front of my truck up to level it off, I’m not installing bigger tires and I’m not lifting the rear. I am sick of dragging my mud flaps on everything I drive over (No I’m not taking them off, I like my paint). I am not sure what kit I would purchase yet. I know I am going to install the diff drop kit if I level the truck; I want to do everything the proper way to avoid any potential problems down the road. So what’s the deal, will the dealer give me shit if I install a leveling kit.

 

they would have to prove that the lift actualy resulted in whatever part breaking or needs work. its called the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.

they cant turn you away if your A/C stops working because you lifted your truck. they could however not work on your CV axles or other suspension parts...but as that act states, they have to prove that whatever you altered on the vehicle is actualy what caused that part to fail

 

I was able to still have the Rear Leaf TSB done with a leveling kit installed. I did not have any issues with Toyota about it. This was my experiance. I can't speak for others

 

That's good to know, I really want to install the 5100's but they are big bucks, and honestly I don't do much off roading. I plan to research more before I make a purchase, I kinda like Low Range Off road's 3 inch leveling kit, I didn't really want to lift it 3 inches, but I like their spacer the best. We will see what happens, I just love the look of a leveled reg cab.

 

+1, Toyota performed the rear tsb on my truck, and I had Bilstein 5100's on all four corners, with 1.75" of lift up front.

Like others have said Toyota would have to prove the lift caused said problem. As far as lift goes, front 5100s are not much more $ than a leveling kit. U can get the 5100s for 169 I believe where a good leveling kit is 150 minimum. Spend the extra money u will be glad u did.
