The 444C duals are probably better since the workload is split between the 2 instead of a single compressor. But the single makes mounting a little easier and the 480C should be plenty for my use. Very doubtful I'll be running any air tools off it, mainly just airing up tires at the end of a trail.

Tanks never help filling tires. Maybe a bit on the first one but after that it won't ever catch up. Just a waste of space really

This is why I like having selective yellow projector fogs.

I fill 2 then take a piss usually, after that the tanks full again. Some may see it as a waste but to each there own.

Yeah, I've been reading all the OBA threads and agree with what you are saying. But I got a good deal on the Viair kit and I've got a ton of free space under the bed for the tank. Plus it can come in handy for other things I might add later, such as air horns or bags. And there's the mall crawler coolness factor of having an air tank too :dancingbacon::rofl:

Seriously tho, I'm still looking at options and might run tankless. Makes the install much simpler if I go that route.

I'd be interested in what you find for bulb seal. I did change out one of my latches to a slightly different style. Think the original is better though. It does still occasionally come unlatched on rough roads so still pondering other ideas.

Nice work and I look forward to seeing your progress. If these had a GFC like frame under them they'd be the best topper tent hands down imo.

So I just spoke with Viair via online chat and determined that I can run the 480C compressor without the tank and just need to purchase a new pressure switch.

I'm going to order Viair P/N 90227 pressure switch which is rated for 110 PSI ON / 145 PSI OFF – (30-AMP) and is 1/4" NPT male. The compressor will feed into a distribution block that has the pressure switch mounted and air hose from the block to the rear bumper (or front, still have to find a location for the compressor) that will have a quick connect fitting attached. So the distro block and air hose replace the tank and that way the pressure switch will still work so that the compressor will shut off as I move from tire to tire.

...just after the next water crossing we all pulled to the side of the road making a clear path for the UTVs to just keep driving on the road.

But no. These were UTVs. And when you drive a UTV, rule #1 is "Be a Dick." So they crossed the river, and then proceeded off-trail to skirt around us. And not just by a couple feet - we're talking 30- or 40-feet off of the road.

Nice, guys. Way to be stand-up humans.

To relax our nerves, we turned back to enjoy the views around us. Despite the UTVs, life was good.

They can! These only cost me $320 to make them look like new. Center caps are a different story though. Another $100 there. Gonna get them this afternoon.

Looking forward to how they work for you. I definitely need some better lights and can’t afford to retrofit yet. Most vehicles that I meet that have led headlights I just wanna stop and take a ballbat to the lights because they are so harsh and scattered

Just the splash guards...and a bunch of wires in the engine bay lol. I had to zip tie the wiring for the AFR gauge along the back of the engine compartment down the frame and to the O2 sensor so it looks like there are a ton of zip ties in there, haha

I recall it being a pleasant evening. It was late September I think. :notsure:

We also looked at a couple of spots south of vernal, along the river but didn't find anything we liked.
