Thought about that after I posted. Dielectric grease probably would be the ticket..

I will try to figure something out with the cap. Should be easier and with less stress on the spring having to travel less distance.

Just teasin. :D So...got a hint on your "big project" you teased at earlier?

    Double Snorkel?

Speaking of: What are your thoughts on yours after X amount of time? Worth it/would do again?

Utah offroad hooning has my air filter all sorts of dusty, and thinking about taking some steps to prevent that.

If you get a snorkel also get one of those prefilter/cyclone things to separate the dust.

^^ This. I picked up a used Enginaire model off of TW for the summer time and heavy snow. The looks I get from other drivers are hilarious and worth it alone. Overall, yes. I enjoy it and would do it again.

Passenger side will be the snorkel (intake) and the driver's side will be an exhaust. Some people seem to thing the intake now is an exhaust :der:

I actually think that the Enginaire one looks way better than the Donaldson street lamp looking one.

I think you should mount a second snorkel body, but mount a FLIR ball on top. #PredatorDroneMod

Same. Way cleaner (no pun intended) IMHO. For what I paid used, I'm happy with what I got and that I didn't have to spend almost the same amount for the Donaldson one.

The last snow storm it was so windy that snow and ice built up across the grille of the snorkel head. No issues, just took the head off and got the ice off from the inside.

Have to set a reminder to throw the precleaner in the truck for winter and have it handy if needed.

You could also just turn the snorkel head around backwards. Don't get the ram air effect, but keeps the snow out.

Correct. Was not expecting the wind to be that intense. It was almost like thundersnow. I wasn't driving either thankfully. Just noticed it the following day when I went to clean everything off.

@geekhouse23 How did you mount your light bar to your prinsu? The heretic brackets or something else? Trying to figure out how I want to mount up the new 40" S8 hotness that came in yesterday.

    Drilled through the crossbar.

Back then, there were no fancy mounts etc. Just used what I had. No issues in almost 6 years.

Yeah, the S8 mounting feet are really tiny, so I'd have to run pretty long spacers behind the bar to be able to do that. Looks like CBI is gonna get $85 from me for a cutout deflector and the heretic mounts. I know that setup will work, but was looking for a more expedient solution.

As I have said before, I have one of the OG's from Zach. I couldn't even mount the bar until I drilled two holds in each side rail to be able to flip the crossbar 90* so I could install the light bar. Luckily, my brother had the new one with the holes I needed so I made a template, lined it up and sent it. Worked out well and I still have the template even; saw it the other night in the toolbox while I was getting some tools to do some work in the house.

I COULD spend the $85, but it doesn't make sense for me to fuck with it again after it has just worked for so long. There's other cool shit (not really) that $85 has went to for upcoming mods
