Were the officials supposed to remind the Chiefs to cover Williams on the 2 point conversion?

Pretty sure the officials called it, and poorly.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we find out in a few years that an NFL officiating was suspected to trying to fix games.

Chiefs defense fucked up on that last play, but agreed on horrendous penalties for both sides.

Least Chiefs are still in control of the AFC if they win out. 1 game lead on division against Chargers, so we hold the tie breaker.

After the NBA event a few years ago, it WOULD surprise me. These guys are looking at SEVERE fines and penalties and even jail time. The NFL has suspended / fired officials for bad calls more in the last 3 years than ever before. Maybe they suck, but it would surprise me if anything was intentional. Just too much to lose and to easy to track if they are gaining something significant. It would have to be a 6 figure or more reward and you would likely see the evidence of that some where.

I quit trying to figure out pass interference. Bottom line is you have to play well enough to overcome some calls that don't go your way. They probably even out over the season. Next game mentality.

Bad officiating is problem year after year no matter how they tweak the rules. That said, Mahomes is a freak of nature. I like watching the kid, however their defense is allowing too many points, period. I don't think they win it all with that D.

Offsides, Pass Interference, Holding Do the refs even know what these mean any more? They have changed the meaning of each one of these some many times I think it's almost not the refs fault but the ruling committees fault for the Ref's getting all of this wrong.

Defensive scheme is terrible for sure. Bob Sutton is old and fading. Fuck his bend, but don't break defense. It's obviously breaking.

And fuck Andy for thinking the defense can save the game for us, so he decided to go 3 and outs on the last 2 drives trying to drain the clock. ATTACK, ANDY. ATTACK.

    Fuck refs too.

I didn’t watch second half. I was gonna ask if they got conservative but it sounds like they did.

I don't like pass interference as spot of the foul ball placement and 1st down. The NFL should follow college and only give them 15 yards and a 1st down.

I would be curious to see if you went deep EVERY play of the game, what pass interference percentage you would see. Coach up your offensive receivers to avoid the hand fighting and make the D look even more suspect. 30% pass interference call probably isn't out of the question. Add that to a bigger Julio Jones / Mike Williams type receiver and they have a fighting chance to beat a double team anyway without pass interference. Could change the way teams play secondary defense.

Clock management and Reid? what can you say. It's been a problem with him for years.

    I know.. Sad, right?

We've been accustomed to it.. can't deny he's brought a winning culture to Kansas City for the last 6 years though and I'd take that vs the 2-14 season we had before he came. That 2-14 season also had a player murder-suicide too.. Rough times. CTE is some serious shit...

Officiating was horrible, but I thought KC benefited more from some of the calls. Kudos to the chargers for pulling it out. I like that they went for two.
