2019 TRD Pro limited production

I was under the impression that these Trd pros are a limited production vehicle? I was told today by a dealer that they can have a Tacoma built in a pro In voodoo blue. But when I bought my TRD Pro 4r they said they can only get it in the color allocated them. But in a Tacoma they can order all they want in voodoo blue and tundras as well?? Is there any truth to this!

 

Toyota makes a run of Pros, like they make a run of Offroads. You can "order" whatever you want from any toyota dealer. They will make what they make and send your dealer their allocation. If another dealer was allocated a vehicle that matches your order, the dealers trade trucks. The dealers dont trade Pros unless they are waiting for a certain color and both dealers agree. So yeah its true... A dealer will take your order and you get what they get. Each year for the last three years, toyota as had an "exclusive" Pro color (2017 Cement, 2018 Smurf blue, 2019 Doodoo blue). The next year they have released that color to the entire fleet. The should call in a 2019 exclusive Doodoo blue Pro... soon to be on everything.

 

It's all about demand and factory output, they aren't ferraris. If they can make money they will make as many as they see fit. People fell into the limited production gimmick with the FJ cruisers and the special colours they had year by year. But if you're willing to buy one there was always one available.

 

I can remember when all this started it was 3500 tundras 3000 4r and 1500 Tacomas. I believe now that not to be true.

Only for 2015. Then Toyota realized they were losing money, seems like every other day you see someone who bought a Pro on here. Curious just how much better if any the resale will be in a few years as Toyota won't say how many they are making but I see tons here in AZ available in all the colors for the year available.

 

Mine is a 2019 voodoo blue mt6. I was told it’s the unicorn of unicorns but I don’t really believe all that.

 

Maybe a unicorn of Pro's but the Pro definately isnt a unicorn anymore. Still a badass stock truck though. Nice choice on color and MT.

 

I live in Central Illinois the dealers here can’t even order a mt6 it’s not on there order form on the computer. That must be a regional thing

 

Sounds like it. Where from in IL? I'm from Oswego, just stationed in AZ for now, will be back to the Land of Lincoln next July.

Nope. None here. I love my Pro. And of all the "exclusive" colors, the Doodoo blue is my fav.

 

Does anyone get the voodoo under MSRP

You might have to come up to Chicagoland. I bought my 6MT OR at the end of August from Continental. Surprisingly they had 3 in stock... Not many MT around.

Edit, nevermind just realized the dealer told you it was a unicorn lol. I kiiiiiind of believe them since MT is not easy to come by.

 

If it was a regular cab, THAT would be a real unicorn.

 

Closer to next year you'll be able too in certain regions. But its the new exclusive color, dealers will hold onto them for at least MSRP for a bit.

 

It says here that Toyota is only going to make 5000 copies of TRD PRO's.

When I was shopping for my Pro I heard from a couple of dealers they couldn't get '19 Pros if they had '18s on the lot and I believe each dealership is only allocated so many at a time.
