Price and selection. My tires were about $220 a piece and only weigh 59 lbs, and I wanted a mud terrain. I briefly looked at 285/75r17 but only one I considered was st maxx at $300 a tire and they weighed a bit more.

I think my next set will be the pros. I need the beefier sidewall compared to what’s on my mtps right now.

That is an odd size too. I don't think there are any decent mud terrains in that size either.
Don't you have E load ranges now? Or are the Pros just beefier in general. I was under the impression that the MTPs were just the Pros with a different tread design.
    Big time score!!!

I didn't even realize that hahaha. Suspension stuff just interests me a whole lot more than building a monster engine or transmission. So many variables and calculations and geometry to play. It's just more challenging to me and keeps me interested. Also so many different ways of building a suspension.
