Do you have the dimensions of the new cross bars to make sure Thule/Yakima accessories will be able to attach? Not all will be able to use the slots for bolts, some have to clamp around it.

It's a trapezoid shape roughly 2.8" wide by 1.6" tall.

The geometry is the same as the tent extrusion t nuts. It’s deeper though so it can accommodate a larger bolt when required.

I am hoping to catch a glimpse of the official GFC test vehicle while we are in Baja next week. I am imagining that it will be covered with a shroud to keep the masses from catching a glimpse of next year’s designs!

@wileydavis we will be driving the TopoTerra 2017 Taco w/RTT and Smitty Built trailer. Of course, we won’t have to rent a setup once the GGC comes. See you on Hwy 1 or 5.

reason emails fail is because people send a million of them a day and are not effective in their communication. So people have 20 emails from the same person in a day, 90% of them mean nothing or having nothing to do with work. They also fail to follow up with a phone call to make sure that it is being taken care of. Basically they send it and completely forget about it as they think they did their part. Drives me nuts when, I work with people whom literally sit round the corner from me and send a million emails instead of coming into my office and begin like hey Steve i’ve Got this this and this, we could have a bit of a bs, cover the topic and be done with it in 5-10 mins, form a work relationship and foster a give a shit attitude at work because we know have friends at work and want to see them do well.

Sorry bit of a Sore topic with me, as I work with a bunch of younger kids(even though they are in their 20’s they are not adults) whom won’t answer the phone, but will text me instead of answering. I’m just tired of the distant workforce, not giving a shit attitudes and general lack of work ethic.

My industry is doomed in 5-10 yrs.

Does anyone remember the side mounted bike racks that KB Voodoo used to make? That’d be a pretty cool idea...

I have no room to fit my bike on my tire carrier or inside the truck, and lifting a 40lb bike 7’ up is a bit of a challenge lol.

There would have to be a good amount of designing though as the handlebards would hit the panel on the side

Front handlebar looks like it's almost 12" over the cab (maybe just the camera angle). In any event, extend that front fork mount up to the point where the handlebar clears the GFC and you've solved one problem.

I've seen the outboard bike mounts used with caps so I think you should be fine clearance wise. I've seen a set or two pop up for sale recently too.

Interested to hear what the recommended weight cap is on this @wileydavis

Also - any consideration of integrating a wind faring into the design of of the cantilever rack? I notice that at least on my setup I am only catching bugs on the upper half of the tent frame. Seems like if I could deflect the air coming off the windshield just a little bit more it would cut the drag significantly.

Any insight on how the solar is wired through the GFC?

Hello everyone, it's been a minute! Wiley took over forum duties and i've been making an effort to manage the work life balance thing. My wife and I are expecting our first kid basically any day now, super stoked. It's a boy, Silas, and I am literally going to have to keep myself from filling our house with toy trucks.

But I come bearing spy photos... Wiley leaves next tuesday to head to Baja for testing these prototypes. This extrusion for the rack is incredibly lightweight BTW, and super strong. Designed for walkability, with ~1/8" of deflection when attached to the roof of an XL camper with Wiley standing in the center.

Cantilever rack. Designed for carrying max trax, firewood, pelican cases, etc.

Roof Deck, will be available in sections. Designed to deck the whole roof in three sections, but you don't necessarily need to deck the whole roof. This one has a solar tray for a ~100W commonly available panel. Expect install guide for wiring before product is released.

Single bar kit. Wiley will be using a forward deck with solar kit and a single bar rear to mount surf boards.

NOTE: THESE ARE ALL PROTOTYPES. Testing still yet to be performed, and release date/pricing TBD.

To stay up to date as we get closer to release, I made a sign up form. If you want an email when its ready, this is the best way to do that. Much better than emailing our customer service team and asking. Not saying you can't do that, but we would very much prefer you sign up.

SUBSCRIBED! Can't wait to get rid of the Prinsu and go with this. I've been waiting for you guys to come out with a solar panel mounting solution. Will a standard 100w panel be able to use this mount as well?
