Realizing I could trade my taco in today for a HD/SD and not have to spend a penny is pretty tempting. But I downsized from a regular sized truck for a reason, I wouldn't want to DD a heavy duty truck since I wouldn't have any weight on it 80% of the time. And even when I did have a load on, it wouldn't be enough for the truck to even know.

Sure is fun building them online though :anonymous:

I have (for now) convinced myself for the second family vehicle I don’t need a 1500 or larger truck. And now am debating the new Ranger or Tacoma. I’m teetering in the fact I want a manual though

    I would use your google...

    FF = no more rusting
Sliders = protect your rocker panels from impact damage, and also soccer mom door dings

I want to see what Toyota does in response to the Ranger if it starts selling well. Maybe they do nothing, but I'd like to see them do a mid-cycle refresh in the next year or two, I think the truck as it stands now is 95% perfect for me. Or even what they come out with for the new Tundra redesign. I'm a few years away from a new truck at minimum but I've been looking at other trucks for fun and there aren't any current trucks out there I'd ditch my taco for. Some are tempting, but the Taco fits my needs best when I'm honest with myself.

If you are buying soon though I would go taco. They have most the kinks out by now and any new model has issues, and I don't see Ford avoiding that with the new Ranger...it's just inevitable.

My goal is that in a year or two my business can afford adding a super duty payment and then get a newer model, but stripped down F350 with a dumper for plowing and wood/dirt work. Convincing the wife we need that over some other things is going to be quite a battle though. :duel:

I like some of the things the ranger comes with, but I really want to see what kind of issues they might have and flush it out.
But the HP/torque/and mpg numbers are super impressive. Like you said though be curious to see how toyota responds, I’m about a year away anyways so I got time

    Good evening,

FWIW, bought the wife’s 2012 Tiguan new in October of 2011. It’s been awesome and has never let us down. Only thing I’ve done besides oil changes were new spark plugs at 50k. Oh, and tires. 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder. Tons of power. Drives awesome, economical and kills it in the snow. Wife loves it and we plan on replacing it with another new one when the time comes.

Ugh.... been a long week, then some unpleasant news today....

Sitting with my wife, cooking, and easing her... pain.

The youngest is too young to involve... but, we involved our 2 teenagers, as I REFUSE to keep secrets regarding family.

Hoping it doesnt come to the extreme that we are currently planning for.... but....

So, while I cook, and console my bestfriend/wife... we working on a SLOW day tomorrow....20181214_181901.jpg

FWIW, not looking for sympathy. Just a nice semi anonymous place to vent without family adding their unwelcome opinions on what we should do. This isnt unexpected.

    ANYWAY......

Me, her, and her brother are trying to figure out how to deal with al, of this...

    Clear as mud?

    Sorry...

Hopefully things can go as smoothly and painlessly as possible, but there is no way around it, that's tough news.

Good luck with the whole process

Thanks. No worries. I will get through/deal with it, in my own time. More concerned with wife/daughters.

It sucks, as these were some of the first people in my life to to actually make me feel like family.. follow?

Either way, part of the process getting older I guess. The worst part, for her is knowing, and waiting for the inevitable.

    ANYWAY.....

    Any fun this weekend?
Its friday.. sorry to be a buzzkill

Women sometimes are tougher in those situations than you would think after the initial news, so hopefully you all can focus on the good times you all had.

Maybe this quick clip can cheer you up? Or at least a quick laugh.

For those who aren't familiar with the language, the tv guy is talking about how the excavator is pulling the stuck Ranger Rover out and when the Taco/Heliux shows up says it shouldn't attempt it will get stuck too :fingerscrossed:

Yeah, all will be okay, and we know this. But, she was confronted with the reality today, and, it hit her hard. This isnt a surprise. But, her and thee little one may end up back home, for an undetermined amount of time to take care of family. And that is the bigger stress right now. It would be me and the 2 teens, while her and my 6y/o go south.... i think the thought of splitting us up for any amount of time is adding to her misery.

I just dont have the ability to vent through my normal channels right now.... so.... sorry to do it here.

We will be fine... im just kinda getting getting it from everyone here.... getting old(er) sucks.
