    Hi All,

The wife currently drives an '07 Accord coupe 4cyl. Great car, but it's time to get her a new car. Going to get a 4cyl. sedan next, and thinking about either a newer Civic, Accord, or Camry.

Anybody have experience with these, maybe even with several of these to compare what you like/don't like about them?

Any issues with the drive train (motor/trans) you experienced?

Honda's reliability has fallen below Hyundai so keep that in mind. I would go with a Camry.

I have experience with the camry, but more importantly I have experience with a wife. What does she want? Any Honda or Toyota will be good, unless she doesn't want it.

Yea I would be worried about Honda's reliability these days. My old '01 Civic and wife's '07 Accord was/has been very reliable.

Kodiak, any particular things to share about the Camry? How does the transmission behave? Any weird behaviors from the engine (i.e. sluggish, hesitant, etc.)?

I think she will be happy with the ones listed. I don't think she would like a Corolla, so am not considering that.

What about a Lexus IS? Reliable and not to pricey. + AWD if needed.

We got rid of our '14 Honda CR-V because the TPMS was essentially useless. That was the year Honda dropped the TPMS sensors and went with a software based idea. I don't know that Honda did that across the board, but I suspect so. For the wife I consider TPMS to be a good idea. Their turbo Civic engine apparently has serious reliability problems. I would recommend Toyota (that's what we replaced the Honda with).

All 3 good choices imo. That Camry and Accord are both very nice options. I have no Honda reliability comcerns

I really like the IS, but they are a lot more than the Camry LE.

My wife drives a camry. shes on her 4th one I believe. all have been 4 cyl, LE, or SE trims. She wont drive anything else, I have tried. brought home an accord a few years back to check out, she would not even drive it. no issues, ever, with the camry's. 4 cyl is plenty of power.

Our 2010 Prius has 225k on it. Drives great, has taken a beating with her commuting to Manhattan, and it’s a Toyota.

Honestly, if it's Honda or Toyota, it's going to be good. The Camry and Accord are best sellers for a reason. You'll grow tired of owning the same car before you have reason to get rid of either. Have her test drive and pick which ever feels best. The 4cyl motors in the sedans are great.

As far as Honda reliability, they are still very good. Our 2017 CRV has almost 60K miles on it already and is great.

Have you asked her? Shown her one? Had her test drive the lineup you are considering?

Why isn't a Hyundai Sonata or Elantra on the list? Great warranty, budget friendly, know several folks who quite enjoy theirs. Worth a look at least.

Yea we should at least check out Hyundai.

Before my ‘11 PR, I only had Honda’s (civ, accord, ‘02 1100 shadow sabre, ‘04 xr250, hell even my mower has a Honda motor haha).

GO WITH THE CAMRY! Honda has gone downhill the past years in quality. Toyota is superior to Honda. You will regret it if you buy a Honda, besides the Camry's look amazing these days.
