Well I'm not supposed to know this until Santa comes, but I got to the mailbox before the wife... I ordered the Spydie paramilitary 2 in s110V. When it arrived the box was in clear shrink wrap which kinda scared me due to the fakes that are floating around. I ordered it from spyderco's Amazon site, so I made a quick call to customer service. They verified that the order was handled by them and it was real. (thank god). I un-boxed it and had to peek. I was very nervous that this size knife was too big for my EDC. I currently carry a bench made mini-grip. I was almost thinking about going para3, but all the hype seems to point to the para2. I am very impressed at how small this knife carries in the pocket. In jeans it really does not feel any different than the mini-grip. It will interfere my smith snubbie air weight pocket carry, but I will just clip it in the left pocket rather than right. A big thanks to the input on this forum. I almost missed out on what might shape up to be my favorite knife.

Is the leatherman bracelet very functional? I haven't handled one, but I'm not a bracelet guy. Always intrigued me I guess.

I'm not a bracelet guy but I am a watch guy. I thought about getting one to use as a watch strap as some people do. I tried one on, too wide & heavy for my preference. For what it is, I just wasn't sure how great the tool functionality of it was for it's high price. But I don't know anyone who's had one with experience.

Yes and no. The bits/drivers themselves work as designed and grab or bite well. The overall action of using the bracelet as a handle while screwing can be a bit awkward. But it does work. I look at this as more of man jewelry, like a watch more than anything. I typically wear it when I have to travel by plane and a knife is not allowed. TSA has never given it a second look.

I've been thinking about buying some links that allow a watch face. Just have not found the right watch for it.

One thing is if you wear that Tread I will guarantee people will stare at it while pretending they are not. It has started more than one conversation with complete strangers.

Yeah seems like it would need a fairly big watch to be porportional. I was thinking like an ecozilla or something. I do have an ecozilla & it has the widest bracelet size I would wear which is 24mm but still not as wide as the Leatherman bracelet IIR . How wide is the Lestherman bracelet? Last I remember Leatherman now sells them as a watch configuration?

They actually now have the original bracelet and a narrower one. The LT I think? They do also now sell a watch face to go with it. There watch matches well and looks sharp. It is a simple diver looking piece. It is a bit pricey for the limited description in their page. They should know watch guys are gear nuts and want details.

There is also a company called chronolinks that make links to accept a wide variety of lug widths. Check them out as they have a lot of photos of different watches on the tread. Some of the combos are sharp looking.

Yeah before it was only aftermarket links to make them a watch bracelet, don't remember the company's name or if there was more than one. Oh, they maka a narrower Tread now huh, I'll have to check one of those out in person sometime to see how it wears on me.

The only company out there is called Chronolinks. Leathermans face is nice because it just screws right into the bracelet with no spring bars required.

I was just looking at watches again. I think the Citizen Promaster Nighthawk would look sharp on the tread.

I got me a couple of them. Haven't worn them in a while but that will change, thanks for the reminder.

I'm liking where this knife thread is going. Knife guys collect more than just knives....I don't have nice watches l like that, but that can only be my fault! LOL! I have a few odd digital watches that tell time in other forms, i.e. different dot formations and such. Too bad they need batteries. They're not beautiful, but kinda cool from an engineering/OCD standpoint.

Man watches get crazy expensive! I think I'm good with all the watches I have but knives I keep going back to. My worse addiction was flashlights. Lol

    There's a watch thread here too. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/watcha-wearing.530736/
