Add on accessories and maintenance items are worthless for resale.

If you invested $3k into a $8k truck, you may need to reconsider your investment knowledge. If you invested that much, you are gonna keep the truck, if you had planned to sell it, you shouldn’t have done all that.

I don't consider a $600 sound system an "add-on accessory" and also have all service records since new...

Also, I briefly considered trading it for a Subaru Crosstrek, but I've decided that I don't want monthly payments, and I'm probably going to end up keeping the truck for at least another five years or so. It's quite literally the only vehicle I've ever owned and it's never failed me.

Hold on, I'll post the my most recent picture.

If it goes down to $7,500 in the next month should I be worried? The value of my truck has fluctuated a lot over the last few months, between $8,500 and $10,000...

My parents wanted me to get rid of and buy something with TSS or similar safety features (specifically automatic braking and blind spot warning); I love my truck and sometimes I wish I had 4WD, but other than that I'm satisfied. At this point I could get eight grand for the truck use that has a down payment on a new vehicle. As of right now, I refuse to sell my current Taco, but plans change. I'm hoping I can still get $5,000 for my truck in five years when it will probably have 150K on the clock...

You can set my truck on fire, and roll it down a hill, and I still wouldn't trade ya for a Coupe De Ville!

Blue book value is shit. I sold my 2001 double cab Tacoma a year-and-a-half ago with 220000km for 12k Cad with a dented rear bumper. KBB was 7500 bucks. You have to be prepared sit on it to get what you want.

5 lug might be the reason. Especially during winter months.

I found THIS at my local Toyota dealer a little over a year ago. It has over 104,000 miles (equivalent to almost 170K km), but it does NOT have air-conditioning and it's a bit rust (had the frame replaced).

Being a 5 lug auto is not going to bring as much as a manual or a 4x4. Getting 5k in 5 years? Yes absolutely. Kbb does not recognize certain things like it being a reg cab. That's a hard truck to locate. I've seen older first gens in worse shape, more miles and go for more than 5.

It's the end of the year, they fluctuate. Dont worry over nothing.
