I might be able to come up on Saturday... Owen, you should change the title and OP to reflect what the plan is. Location, itinerary, confirmed attendees...etc. just a suggestion. :boink:

Well done sir! I have a wedding to attend in San Jose on Friday, so I'm still undecided. I may cruise up on Saturday and try to find you guys...

I have the 21st-2nd off. So long as i dont spend ALL my money on christmas things, i should be able to go. I may head up a day or two early tho, perhaps secure my favorite spot, build some target stands and do some ice fishing

I'll be in. I'll come up Saturday and probably stay until Monday if people are staying that long.

    Please post coordinates!

Will post probably Thursday. Not sure of the exact camp site yet.
A stock Subaru Outback can make it.

I can confirm this is the case, even with the bridge out. And even on a donut taking the long way (in the summer, at least).

That being said, I've got a free trip to Vegas that weekend, so I won't be making it out for this trip.

I'm tempted to case out the way in from the north via Jackson Mdw Reservoir prior to Christmas, but another storm is coming in Christmas Eve and Christmas day. There is a hill that drops down by that house a little ways from the lake. Maybe think of a plan B. Put my new dealer pull offs on, taking off my old, original tires with 31,000 on them. Plus, don't know how I would fit in with you young folks.

I wouldn't worry about the Young folks part.

We all come in from different walks of life but we make it work.
I stick around with this group since everybody is chill, low pressure type of cool cats so it's all good.

Thanks, I know a couple guys I've met that are on the forum, our paths have only crossed once here. One young'un I've backpacked with numerous times on the coast and the Sierra. At this point I have more concerns about the forecast and being able to make Sawmill. Last storm only dumped a few inches vs the predicted foot or more. This coming one will be about the same, then I have to contend with snow at my place.
I collect stoves and lanterns, so if I make it, I can bring a few items from my collection or checkout what someone has.

The road is basically just a dirt road. The only houses I know of on the way from Jackson Meadows are the PG&E summer homes.

    Thank you, yes it does.
Yes, been in from the north half a dozen times at least, destination White Rock, PCT to Paradise and Warren lakes, Sawmill, Faucherie and once to Faucherie on my motorcycle. Just concerned about the last bit down to those summer houses. Could come in off of 80/20 instead.
