On another note... had 2 tires that still have a decent amount of run-out... and I have 2 more coming, and need to return the 2 bad ones....

They did ask about road force balancing.... but, dont know who has one so...

The 10 speed transmission is great. If that 2.3 is anything like my 2.7 it should be a good combination. Only thing I didn't like was no DCLB option on the Ranger.

Fit and finish on the Ford isn't quite as good as the Tacoma was, but they got the drivetrain in my F-150 just about perfect. If this truck holds up well for the next 3 years or so, I'd buy another without hesitation. I'm hoping Ford doesn't do away with the suicide doors too--if they did, I'd probably try to buy one of the last ones like mine.

The 2.3 has been around a bit so it should hold up well. I like how they tuned it more towards trucks so it’s high on torque. Plus you know ppl are gonna have some easy tunes to work that turbo a bit more. I like the short bed looks, but I did have that issue with my last Tacoma of that 5 foot bed being a hair short sometimes.
I would prefer an extended cab f150 do to they are close to the same cost as the ranger, but that back seat doesn’t fit a car seat very well, granted this will be the second vehicle so i will only have to worry that once in a while.

I just like the size of a midsize truck only hesitation from going to a full size

Yeah, my extended cab F-150's back seat is very close in size to my Tacoma double cab's. With no kids, a car seat isn't an issue for me. It's big enough to bring people somewhere occasionally, but most of the time I use it for stuff instead. The lack of a B pillar and flat floor makes it really easy to load things.

I know worst case I move the passenger seat (thankfully the wife is short haha) for me it’s the $3k+ savings versus the full cab. You have any problems with the door freezing or leaking? My access cab Tacoma started to get a little “leaky” after a while. And I saw some ppl having issues with the f150 doors freezing

With the F150, I believe it's the same service bulletin as my F250 which is the lock itself freezing, not the door seals. I just lubed the lock on my 250 and the issue seems to have gone away.

I have a bulletin on mine for that. Hasn't been an issue so far, but I park in the garage which is usually above freezing.

Well, certainly relieved this day is pretty in the books.

Sorry for the rambling earlier.... was being bombarded....

    Anyway........

I MIGHT be in the market for a 20 connex box. And short of FB Marketplace, I am having a bit of trouble finding any dealers.. anyone have one of these, and will it be worth the hassel until I can get my barn/shop approved/built?

The shelter logic 12x12 I bought last summer is holding up well, but......

Had one before my 3rd gen, car had an oil consumption issue and Subaru replaced the engine at 12k. Got 155k out of the car, ate wheel bearing like it was it's job.

I’d look into it fairly quickly, it sucks! When it happened on mine, it was the driver’s door only and it wouldn’t even unlock. I was fortunately able to go through the passenger side. I lubed up the locking mechanism at the door latch itself and it hasn’t happened again.
Good ‘ole PB Blaster. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.

Mine had the problem with the latches on the rear doors freezing the first winter that I had it, but I took it in to the dealer and they pulled it into the garage, thawed everything out, wound some fresh grease to the latch mechanisms and that solved it (at least until I traded it)

I had it happen to my 2015, the tsb didn't fix it and it's the same as the recall or at least same as it was so I sold it. Very disappointed it is a problem on the super duties as well. I know I am beating a dead horse here, but how does this happen, they have been building cars and trucks for over 100 years and can't get a door to close? It's been 4 years now since the release of these new models.

@Noelie84 mine fixed it too, but only for a few months or so then it went back to not closing.

I actually kinda liked the XV. Never drove one. Only crossover we had was a SantaFe. It was a ways back. We both hated that car. For no reason. Was a good car. Still is(gave it to my mother). Just... couldnt stand it.

That said, my wife has stolen my trucl 2x this week.....

Sorry man. My wife was in Las Vegas all November tending to her mother who was having a few spine operations. I was sort of on my own for thanksgiving. It’s a hard thing at this stage of our lives, but hopefully our own kids will be there for our own end of life bull shit too. And they’ll probably need a stiff drink to cope now and then too.

Its cool man. They got it out last night. She was on the phone with her brother a bit. She slept it off, and is now focused on how to deal with everything.

I was thoroughly expecting her to sleep a better of the day...... but, I guess that irish blood can take a beating.... lol
