Thanks for sharing this! I didn’t have access to my truck when replying earlier but was almost certain the features could be disabled.

When you guys bought your lower grill garnishes, did it come with the lock washers or did you buy them separately?
    thx

So bought the faux grill and garnish for xmas gift, but the grill doesn't have the slots to slide the garnish. Anybody have this grill version and what was your work around if any?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I remember right the garnish should have pegs that slip into the four holes which then screw into the back?

Won't fit bc tab slots aren't on grill.

Can you post a pic of front grill with garnish sitting over where it needs to go?

This was taken from a thread here on tacomaworld and mirrors the grille I installed. In this picture of the grille, there's slots for the tab entry. Sorry I couldn't be more help but it looks like an issue obviously of yours didn't come with the right inserts.

So garnish looks like it will fit am I correct? If so I would mark where you need holes or slots in the grill and just drill them. Or snip off the tabs on the garnish and just use clear silicone adhesive to mount it. You will never need to remove the garnish so should be fine

Just installed my grill a couple days ago, gone about 200 miles with heavy rain mixed in and have gotten no errors. I didn't like how shiny the 18' OEM garnish was so I put a piece of 3/16 clear polycarbonate wrapped with a high gloss dark smoke vinyl behind the original garnish. It doesn't touch the radar but protects it from any dirt/water. Also creates the reflection supposedly needed for the radar to work properly (was suggested by a friend who works with vehicle capture radars) not sure if this is true or not but figured I'd give it a try first before really needing the buy the 18' garnish. I'll give it another few hundred miles and see if any errors pop up

Has anyone plastdipped or put black matte vinyl on the front of the garnish to get rid of the shiny glare? If so, any errors or issues with use?

That was going to be my next plan if the one I currently have started giving errors. I was planning on just using some matte or satin laminate that we use for signage.

I remember reading about someone doing that a month or two ago. Search the forums and you should be able to find out what he used.

Re-calibrate or not.... I can confirm that the TSS warnings stop after a few weeks.... If you don't like the OEM shiny garnish. Give it time the clean sensor warning will go away....TRY IT....
