It's no. Big. Deal. If your truck needs fixed, get it fixed. If not, no. Big. Deal.
Edit: After reading the documents, it sounds like in the 2nd half of this year there were a batch of some brake components used that were not up to par. They identified by batch the vehicles affected and are taking action. It happens. Humans were involved.

Was your truck confiscated like a lot of the listed trucks in that recall?

My OR had a weep, wasnt listed therefore wasnt confiscated as per the protocol and repaired under warranty instead.

I kept driving the truck while waiting on parts.

    Be happy you werent listed.

Oddly enough by the time I got a second opinion from a different dealership (the first one told me to pound sand) it stopped all by itself :notsure:

    What recall? Master Brake Cylinder
    What year(s)? Some 2018, 2019 Tacoma’s
What trims? Unspecified Trims (that’s sorta why I posted the question).

There are approximately 44,100 vehicles covered by this Safety Recall.

    Model Name Model Year Production Period Tacoma 2018 - 2019 Mid-February 2018 – Mid-November 2018

Are all Tacoma vehicles in the production period described above covered by this Safety Recall in the U.S.?

No. The Tacoma vehicles involved in this Safety Recall were built with affected brake master cylinders that were produced with combinations of improper part machining operations at one supplier facility and casting variations at another of its facilities. Some Tacoma vehicles built within the production period mentioned above are not involved in this Safety Recall because they were not built with affected brake master cylinders.

Even though this thread is not really about the recall anymore, I thought I would update for those interested.
A remedy is available now. I still looks like notices will not go out until later, but I will be calling tomorrow to see if my local dealer is aware and if they have a new MC available. Maybe I can get a jump on it and get it done while I am on vacation.

I have my appointment for Wed. Dec 26 at 8 a.m. They had no problem setting it up, I told them I got the notice through Toyotaowners.com. He ran my VIN and said no problem, we have an opening Wednesday morning. I will update when the process is complete.
