Why did Toyota discontinue Inferno Tacoma's

I had an 89 325is for a number of years. It was a great car. I dare say the best BMW of the last three decades. I woke up one day and did something insane. I sold it and bought a Honda Civic EX Coupe. The MPG of an E30 with the M20 non eta engine is pretty terrible. I never got any better than 12-13 MPG

 

No idea why; but I feel like they could got rid of one of grey/silvers. MGM, SSM and Cement are all very similar.

 

They were great cars, couldn't kill them. I've owned 27 of them (mostly part outs) but the m20 was always a tank.

I sold all mine off when I had kids except for my convertible. It just sits in my garage next to my Challenger. Plan to hand them down to my kids for their wedding presents.

 

I think that MGM should go.

I would really like to see Toyota lose their shit and release a retro metallic brown with high grade vinyl tan interior. a retro style 1979 grill with round headlights, a Toyota embossed tailgate, 4WD mud flaps. I know everyone wants black interior, but i really liked the oak interior in my first gen

 

The M20 pulls like a freight train. It's not going to win any hp contests, but was more than enough for that chassis. When I bought my E30 I think about what I could have bought for just a few thousand more. I could have bought an E30 M3 for 3-4k more at the time.

 

Yeah, when I first got into e30s, I looked e30 m3 and they were sitting at 7-8k. Now they are in the 40k range... Kicking myself for not grabbing one back then.

In this ultra-sensitive new world we live in, maybe they thought the name would trigger Californians after all the fires. And before you call me insensitive, I live in Santa Rosa, about 2 miles from the Tubbs fire evac zone, and family lost a home.

 

@skiploder likely would say that it is because Toyota hates you and wants you to be miserable.

 

It's kinda payed off on my convertible, normal ones run around 10-12k in good shape, mine goes for about double. Considering I paid 9k 11 years ago, anything over 9 is a bonus.

 

They seem to introduce new colors on the Pro line, then drop them to the TRD line the following year. Inferno probably ran its course. I’d be surprised if Cement stayed around for 2020. They are def “love them or hate them” colors.

Obviously I love the Inferno but I can see the argument against it and I’m glad the market isn’t flooded with them. MGM is awesome but I couldn’t bring myself to get MGM with the market flooded with them.

Inferno debuted on the 2015 Pro.

Why does the Tacoma not have a flat / olive green color yet?

The 3rd Gen has been available in 3 versions of gray, 3 versions of blue, and no green?
