I want to give a shoutout to @Naveronski for posting the pictures of his exhaust reroute, went and got mine done yesterday by Kenny at The Muffler Shop here in Tyler since I was off and was needing to get my muffler fixed and unbent from the frame... so went ahead and had him do the reroute for me...

1.5 hours and $100 later.... I would definitely recommend Kenny to anyone, the guy has been doing exhaust work for about 15 years and knows his stuff. I hung out in the bay and watched him work and chatted with him and he is a super nice guy!

One more thing I have been putting off for a while... now to get the driveshaft fixed and on to the next step in the truck reconfig...

 

Purpose of reroute?

 

To raise above crossmember, and allow for a flat skid plate.
One less thing to snag on rocks.

I honestly went to get the portion of the tubing that attaches just before the muffler fixed so it would no longer contact the frame and cause horrible noises and vibrations when accelerating... but when it was on the lift I went ahead and asked it if he could do the reroute and after showing him the pictures he paused for a couple seconds and said "Yep, I can do that, it will take about an hour and it will cost you $100" I may have stuttered for a second since I was expecting a higher number... so I went ahead and had him do the reroute as well and he did a damn good job of it.


But I would also like to get a Transfer case skid soon and would rather have it all nice and flat instead of one more thing to get caught on under there.

It won't be hard to do from @Jamart5, just distract him with a Shiner and a Taco.

 

I picked up the new 23ZERO Litchfield last night from my buddies shop, got it unboxed and mounted on the truck there and then finished putting the ladder on and all that when I got home. Just myself and him is all it took to lift it up and put it on the truck, so am pretty happy about that as it will not be hard to remove it from the truck for storage if needed.

First impressions:
Seems really well built, fabric is nice and thick, all the stitching looks really good and no fraying or loose stitches that I can see.
The overhang is a really nice addition to this and provides some extra privacy to the door.
Rainfly is already on it and is easy to adjust or remove if needed, it does block the stargazer when attached, but it is easy to fold back that portion if you want.
Mattress feels really nice and their is plenty of space inside to sleep and store clothes bags or what not.
Lots of ventilation and windows built in, tons of storage pockets inside, and lots of places to clip lights, hang stuff from, etc around the tent.
It took me a while to setup for the first time as I was checking everything out, but should be pretty easy for now on, folding it up and storing it for the second time last night was actually pretty easy and went smoothly.

I will need to set it back up in the daylight so I can drill different holes for the ladder pins so it will level out better and so I can check it out more, but I am definitely ready to take it on a camping trip for sure!

Only issue I have, but no fault to the tent is the window that is against the cab of the truck, I can put the window rod in the side that is facing the driver side, but not the other side due to the cab being in the way, but I can either use a bungee cord to the roof rack to open it, or just leave the window closed all the time since their are other windows in the tent. I carry bungee cords with me in a camp box so no issue there really. I may also just put a tie down ring on the prinsu and can just use either a bungee cord one of those NiteIze twist ties to hold it open.

It comes with an annex, but not sure how much I will use it, depending on the weather tomorrow, I would like to set the tent up again and at least set up the annex to see how it sets up and what it looks like to see if it would be something that I would want to at least bring with me on trips just in case, or just leave home.

Only other thing that I want to do, is flip the bed bars around as the one towards the cab has eyelets on it that I can use to hang stuff at camp and the one at the tailgate has light mounting tabs that I will use to mount some side lights behind the cab of the truck. For rear lights I am going to order two of the mounting slides that go in the tracks under the tent and can then mount two lights right off the back of the tent.

 

That's a good looking tent, and the price was great.

So far I have spent $10 on the tent as I had to purchase some longer bolts for the mounts for it since my bed bars are are a bigger diameter than I guess what they are normally used to lol.

 

I've heard very good things about 23zero tents. Low bed racks do suck for opening the window close to the truck. I've never opened that window and its worked great just using the side window at the tailgate and the front and back doors if I need ventilation. I have been planning on using some paracord or a bungee to the prinsu to be able to use both side windows now that I have a roof rack. As far as the ladder, I'm not familiar with the slide version you have but you should be able to adjust it with both the length its extended and the angle to use it with the current holes without drilling new holes. Play with it to figure it out. The ladder is meant to hold some/most of the weight of the weight of the tent and occupants so hinge isnt holding the entire weight.

 

Yea, so far I am pretty impressed with it, I did not have time to set it up again yesterday even though the weather was pretty nice, so maybe this coming weekend I might.

But yea, if I ever want to open that window, I can use one of the rods at least and then either attach the other part of the window to the prinsu or leave it closed if needed, but there is plenty of ventilation in the tent so it should be good to go honestly. I think what I may just go ahead and do is put on of the tie down eyelets that I have for the prinsu onto it where it would need to go to hold the window open so if I wanted to open it, it would be ready to go and then I can just use a carabiner to clip it and hold it open.

Well, with the ladder it is either fully closed or fully open and fully open puts the ladder at a very wide angle and makes the hinge hold more of the weight instead of the ladder and I don't like and the instructions say to it at like a 30 degree angle from the ground, plus to much of a ladder angle is just weird trying to climb up and down honestly. It won't be hard to drill two more holes for the pins in the ladder, I will just need to open it again on a flat surface so that the tent is level and then I can know where to put the new holes in it.

 

Yeah to much angle makes it uncomfortable to navigate drunk! She's forever provide good support. That's kinda silly they dont have more holes already. Guess that's 1 of the reasons I see so many people switch to the telescoping style.

 

Yea, but kinda hard to buy another ladder for it when this one just needs two new holes in it is all!

 

Pretty sure I have possibly figured out what the weird noise may be from the rear drivers side when I am cornering, only happens when I take a corner and not when going over bumps so it has been weird to pin point. Was looking again last night trying to figure something out and noticed that I am missing two of the plastic isolators from the leaf spring opposite of each other, I am thinking that when I corner that this is causing the horrible metal creaking/cracking noise I get. Have contacted ARB to see if I can get some more of these to install on the leafs to see if that resolves it possibly, if not, then will continue to try and figure out what it could be because it is loud and sounds really bad.

 

@ETXTacoma what psi do your run on your 295s?

 

Right now I am at 40psi, but have ran at like 45 normally.

38 right now, but I’m heading to Longview this weekend and was seeing if I need to up it.

 

Ah, I may drop it down just a little bit more, but 40 seems to be good honestly for me I think.
