I've tried searching and searching for solid results and personal experiences, but could never really find any (maybe not looking good enough). I'v seen many people ask for advice as to turn/thread to lift ratio on Kings 3rd Gen Tacoma. Found some solid answers and very helpful posts, but some, not as much. So I'd like to start a "newer" thread in regards to this. Maybe we can post pics of our set up with measurements and lift achieved. Maybe shed some insight to people who are misinformed (could be me as well). I'm sure I'll learn from this too.

From my understanding and my "extensive" research, stock 3rd gen Tacomas come in around 21" in the front and about 22" in the rear... correct me if I am wrong. I am also here to learn. I know each truck is different from factory and I know it depends what each of us had added to our rigs (i.e. bumpers, skids, sliders, ect). So here are my results with my Bob The Builder measurements: King 2.5 OEM Coilover with 600# Springs. No weight up front. Just C4 sliders:

PASSENGER SIDE: 11 threads. 23.5" from center of wheel to fender.

DRIVER SIDE: 12 threads. 23" from center of wheel to fender.

Jesus, you can actually out that much preload on the shock and it rides nice?

@aaen I guess you can. I dont mind stiffness. I'll turn it down some though for the sake of travel and performance. I'm new to this as well. Still learning. I've seen people with more or about the same preload. Your set up?

I never adjusted the collar on mine. This is how they came straight out the box. About 1" lift up front. Is level now. No extra weight.

@Doggman nice! That's how I've had it for the past 7 months and was happy with it. Just wanted a little more clearance since I bashed the crap out of my under carriage lol. I wonder if its that "top hat/spacer" that gives it the 1" of lift? Or is it the 3 threads showing? Both?

I’m at 6 threads and 4 threads pass, get about 2” of lift over stock. With arc bumper, winch, dual battery

@aaen I'm assuming you have 700# springs? I had 4 threads showing before I turned them up and I only got about an inch with 4 threads.

Yup 700’s. I might go 2-3 more threads each as it settles out a bit.

@aaen I figured you have the 700#. I only have the 600# due to not having weight in the front. How are your CV angles and boots? I'm sitting at about 2" - 2.5" of lift up front.

@djacri nice man! Perks of 700 I guess. Dont have to crank down on them as much as the 600s.

That looks almost exactly like how mine is sitting. I have never counted the threads showing. I did have to turn one side about 1/4" more than the other but I dont remember which is higher. My ride is great. That really isnt that much preload. They are adjustable for a reason. You cant adjust them and still have them at the top of the shaft. If you like the ride, go with it!

@johntoyota nice man! Would you happen to have pictures of your set up? I like the ride, definitely stiffer but I dont mind. I'm more so worried about my CV angles and boots. How much lift are you sitting at now?

I am right at 2" lift. 23" hub to fender. I can take some pictures tomorrow. Your angles and boots are fine with that setup.

@johntoyota I'm 23" hub to fender as well on driver. About 23.5" on passanger probably because gas tank lean on driver.

    Stand corrected i’m
I’ll grab some pics in the am, I. Add a mistake they are higher then 4 and 6, they added 4 &6 from the factory settings. Angles are fine according to shop, I never looked after it was done.
