    News to me! Is this for the 3rd gen? I've only ever had 2nd gen Tacos and older 4runners.

    I've always kept it under 50mph when engaging 4wd. Will probably keep it that way just to be safe, but interesting to see that.

    I just shimmed my truck last night. Vibrations went away except for 50-65mph. I did a 3 degree shim

    Great example and this applies to any vehicle.

    I recently put a Bilstein lift in my truck. The installer was very very specific that the needle bearing was to be replaced to eliminate the notorious Tacoma "Vibration" after lifting. It runs perfectly smooth after. So I would make sure to do that. I am sure it will fix your issue.

    Seems to me 'lifting' can cause a myriad of issues - I reckon I'll just stay boring stock.

    Check for the shims, front diff and rear carrier drop as well. The front settings on the shocks isn't going to help. I went up from the 4th to the 5th on my 5100s and saw no change in the ride.
