You do know the reason, right? To ensure the best quality possible, Wi-Fi was chosen to be the connection for video calls. AT&T is over LOADED with customers on their 3G services. Sprint has about half to three quarters of the subscribers AT&T has. Sprint just recently updated their service (same time they dropped their prices on monthly plans) and gained more coverage. At the same time, not a whole lot of people were signing up. Now that the Android phones are available for Sprint, the subscribers with their new Android phone have no bandwidth issues because there's practically anyone else using the service. Whereas AT&T has most of the customers of the first iPhone, the 3G, as well as the 3G S. And now, introducing the new iPhone 4, there are even MORE subscribers than ANY other carrier.

Numbers talk for themselves. People would much rather have a reliable phone.

^i still really, really, really hate AT&T.

let's put it this way. whichever one comes in first (the HTC of the iPhone) i'm gonna get. my phone doesn't like to work nowadays. I love the iPhone, I had the first generation one and loved it. I'm just sick and tired of dealing with AT&T and their stupid customer service, the fact I don't even have frickin voicemail on my phone, and the whole false advertisement of early upgrades for the iPhone 4.

That has nothing to do with it. Posting the same pic several times in the same thread is pointless.

    this is so dumb.

its all personal preference. who cares if youre best friend has an iPhone and they wont switch to droid.

(just know that you have a better OS :crapstorm: )

but on the real. can we be done. they are both amazing machines and both have advantages over the other.

Um, FLASH is used for a lot more than just games... from videos to websites built entirely in flash. It's not ancient, is a pretty commonly accepted web platform for everything (except apple for some stupid reason). HTML5 may or may not take off, but adobe is here to stay for the foreseeable future, why deny it?

As for the hardware... it's not bad minus the antenna issue. Didn't deny it, won't now. As for the durability, my Droid is just as good. I finally scratched my glass with my KNIFE (on accident putting it in the pocket). No protector, and it's the only scratch I've had since November. I've also dropped my phone several times, including about 5' on to tile (accident again). The case itself isn't even phased (go metal?). The Droid's hardware is faster than all previous iphones, and with Froyo people are now over-clocking to 1.2ghz... blowing the new iphone out of water and even beating the Droid X (stock of course).

As for multi-tasking... constantly I have Google Navigation, Pandora (or Slacker or XiiaLive aka shoutcast), AIM, background checking apps (gmail, facebook, ect) all running at the same time. It's essentially my trucks central navigation/entertainment hub.

As for your other points, why even argue that. Camping, watching videos on a plane, or any other number of vast reasons a second, third, even forth battery is good for. Plus taking video and images on the SD card... you can swap it out for another when it's full without having to download to a laptop, find a data connection to upload them off, ect. Flexibility is never a bad option, ever.

Also, all of the moto Driods have had a 16gb sdhc card that come with it. If you get a 32gb sdhc card... it's 100% optional and can not be considered part of the purchase cost.

Also... to the people saying you have all these extra steps to using a Droid over an iphone on the os... the hell are you talking about? I click on XiiaLive... XiiaLive opens instantly. One button, didn't even have to swipe to another screen if it's on home. Where's the complexity again?

What if my battery shits out? I haven't heard of anyones iphone battery ever shitting out. Even if it does, apple will replace the phone within a year . People also say you can extended it another year. I have never had a battery crap out on any cell phone I have ever used in the past 10 years and I usually get a new one every year, to 18 months.

Seriously, I hated the black berry key board I had, and didn't care for any other one I ever used.

What if my internal memory gets corrupted? Big woop. Re-sync with itunes and its all back. I did that once on my ipod touch. It even synced the last web browser windows and history I had. Again, never even heard of anyones iphone getting corrupt.

I haven't had much issue with not being able to view flash with my iphone. I think sites are starting to make dual versions to load on the iphone.

I have an otter box on my phone, drop it all the time on the construction site- on concrete, in mud, etc. Been fine. Any naked phone will get damaged.

I have been multitasking on my iphone for the last year. Yea, you can hack the iphone just the same you can a droid. I can run pandora in the background while checking my face book. The new version does too, point?

If you have to buy a second or 3rd battery then you are dumb for just not getting one of those rechargable battery packs. My brother in law got one for his droid. It comes with an adapter for the iphone as well. Point?

First, my post was directed at Viet2100, hence the quote.

Second... obviously anything encased in a shock proof case will be fine... no shit?

Third... multitasking was brought up by the poster I was referring to. I realize the new iphone does this, and I also know you can root an iphone (with about the same success rate as droids). For that matter, people have put Android on iPhones...

Forth... I have those battery packs... they serve a purpose but most of them are weaker than the stock battery, and if I'm using Maverick for off-data GPS needs... I'd rather carry a few extra batteries than extra cables and bulkier packs. It's an option, I like options. I don't like not having the option to do what I choose, that's my point. I hardly find myself to be dumb for thinking having spare stock batteries or higher capacity batteries is retarded by any means. Your flashlight does it right?

Once again, they're both decent hardware. Once again I won't argue that. I'm simply stating how limited the iphone is compared to the droid platform and why it is my personal preference. That's it... I'm not out trying to attack the iphone, or anything else. Personally I despise Apple telling me what to do... so I choose Droid. It's that simple, that is my point.

The entire objective of the OP's initial question was a comparison between the phones, it's up to the OP and anyone else curious to make the informed decision upon each phone's capabilities and features on what works for them. That simple.

I have no issue with anyone wanting whatever they want. I just find it funny that the only things people bitch about with the iphone are dumb points that are personal preference. I never really said why the iphone was better, just justified it.
