‘Zactly. And what’s nice is the hood bolts are the same as the door bolts, meaning there’s a tapered head on it to center the hood exactly where it needs to go. No messing around with aligning it. It was a simple process bolting it back on once I got home.

Nope, I wish. It’s just a known issue with them but Toyota didn’t do anything to fix it other than update the head gasket design for future trucks. Which is fine, I can’t put Toyota at fault for a head gasket going out in a 14 year old vehicle with almost 200k miles on it.

I think i found the problem...

If anyone wants any of the parts off this old rear let me know soon before it gets trashed. The center section will be kept for rebuild or sold.

    8" or 8.4"? I'm interested if it's the latter.

The 8.0 and 8.4 are the same R&P just the 8.4 has a better bearing support and not e-locker. If you are wanting to upgrade to a larger R&P look for a 3rd gen manual trans rear or OR they are a true 8.8" RG.

It's the one I need then. Are you replacing the whole axle?

What do you want for it?
