My buddy text me a couple of days ago and asked if I would shoot a doe for him. Hey, why not.20181212_164558.jpg 20181212_191935.jpg

nice fat doe! Ive missed the last couple shots on a doe...first one was low...I had it ranged at 35 by I didnt account for the angle so it was about 30. I shot under then yesterday I shot at one and she turned literally as I released and I missed completely! So Im on strike 2! :(

That just means you have more practice now and the next one is in trouble. Good luck!

This deer was quartering too me quite a bit. They say it's a bad shot to take but I will take it every time if they are close and you can put it in the right spot. The arrow went through the length of her body and exited just in front of the rear leg on the opposite side. You can see the exit on the bottom pic. You gotta watch out for the shoulder though.

How many have used their kids swingset/play house to hang, skin, and quarter their deer?

finally got a doe to end my hunting season! I spined her at 35yds and she dropped but was flopping around and had to finish her off with a knife to the throat but still a kill. It hit weird in the fact that it punctured a lung and skipped up and severed the spine. A tiny piece of backstrap will be messed up but she should be a good meal since she was a young one...maybe 2.5 yr old.

An older couple (friends) didnt have time to hunt much this year and every time they did hunt a neighbor kept walking through the area and messing up hunting, so I gave them the doe. We got enough deer till next season so Im not too worried about it;) Its currently hanging in the walk-in.

Sorry no pics since it was at last light and had to get it skinned and gutted.

Thanks, I wasnt getting my hopes up on a nice buck since they are few and far between in daylight, but one thing or the other led to me getting a deer in late bow season. I was kinda of being picky so thats the main reason, I also didnt want to shoot a little deer which I saw a lot of this season.

It's almost 60 here. Comfy in the tree but bad on deer movement.
