55W on low beam, 60W on high beam. Same as the GE.

New gears are in. 4.88, so much better then the stock 4.10 on 33’s
Got to brake them in and test out the front arb locker.

Hmmm same as the Philips X-Treme Vision I have. Theyre good bulbs, and brighter than stock, but they didnt blow my socks off.

 

Is there something you are trying to explain to me with that link or just sharing to share? BTW the author of that thread recommended the GE bulbs to me before I bought them.

 

I'm not sure what you mean by "same as". Are you referring to just the wattage specs? That is the legal limit for road use so almost every bulb you see will be 60/55W.

 

Same wattage yes. Its a higher performance bulb, I wouldnt expect those GE bulbs to be much better.

 

So last night I went to drive my truck, as I’m moving forward out the driveway the truck does like a stutter like somethings blocking the tires. I figured out for some reason it’s kind of being caught between 2hi and 4hi. I could move the shifter to 4hi but for some reason it would not fully engage back into 2hi. A few times when I’d come to a stop it would have a violent shake and hop and slam into 4hi anybody have any suggestions on why or how to fix it?

 

Maybe I missed it but it wasn't clear if you had also done the wiring harness upgrade. That is what makes for the most improvement in headlight performance. I am sure upgrading the harness would have also been part of @crashnburn80 recommendation.

 

The GE +120 Megalight H4s are the highest efficiency (plus rating) bulb on the market without negatively affecting high beam performance by putting a blue coating over it.

Upgrading the harness is always a good idea to boost output with higher voltage. Running a stock wattage bulb it is not required, but will further boost performance and is definitely recommended for best output.

 

Hella has an 80w bulb that might be worth a try. Easily available and cheap at $7 each. Quality wise I'm not sure it will compare to the Osram Bilux that's no longer available.

 

Not comparable to the discontinued Osram Bilux Hypers, which are high efficiency and high wattage.

Compared to the available Osram 100/90w Superbrights, the Hellas are rated at 100 hours vs 200 hours for the Osram, and the Osram are higher output on low beam, they are equivalent on high beam.

Yeah there was a whole thread on people testing various nozzles from various makes and models. It was concluded that this was the best set.

 

Has anyone done engine mounts and the transmission mount for the 2.7l A340F?

I’m tired of this Hitachi Magic Wand idle.

I'm guessing there's two for the engine, right?

My guess on how to do this is lift up the engine from the factory points with a cherry picker.
