Here is a better view. The steps don't get in the way when walking around the vehicle and the bars are not really a true oval but not boxy on the edges. Here a few pics afyer I washed it this morning.IMG_20181216_145744099.jpg

I've had predators on all three Tacomas I've owned. I find them functional although I don't always step on them to get in but my wife does. Also handy for washing the roof. I've heard a lot of people (on here) complain they bump their shins on them, but it's never been a problem for me or anyone else that has been around my trucks that I've seen. I guess some people just walk closer to the vehicle then I do.

I got the stealth running boards with my Tacoma. When you step on them you then have to croutch down like your getting in a low rider. I’m only 5’9 so I end up kinda awkwardly hopping into my truck. I’ve used the predators on a friends truck and they are definitely better as a step to get in.

Thanks to all who responded! I appreciate all the advice and opinions.

I met up with the person who would have traded, but...the Predators were for a LB so wouldn’t fit my SB. Damn. Back to watching TW Buy/Sell/Trade posts and Craigslist!

I have been checking off and on, but haven’t seen anything even remotely in my area. I’ll be watching more closely now. Thanks, again!

I’m definitely looking to make the switch. I think they’ll be more functional for me at 5’ 7” and my wife at 5’ 5”. I guess I don’t need to be in a hurry, but now that I’ve gotten it in my head, you know...!

Check on Facebook Marketplace, too. That's where the guy who bought my OEM tube steps saw them.

sound like you live in snow country, you are not going to like the predator step, because when you do a lot of driving in snow and ice will build up in the step, or the ice build up from the mudflaps to the step with big chunk of ice ,just becareful when you step on the step... I mean don't miss that step. my last truck 2016 taco limited had that predator step and last winter season I almost hurt myseft when I step out of the truck, with that step and don't park your truck in gara. big clean up with a chunk of ice+mud. now 2018 trd pro with oval sidestep, doing fine in snow and ice.

I’m short and I step over... the predators are pretty useful for stopping door dings once watched some dim wit open their door all carelessly into the predator... I just laughed... walked up to them and said darn that sucks glad it’s not the side of my car....
