I started a trip home - 1600 miles and the cruise control deactivated but the dash light stayed on. I turned the truck off and back on. The light went out and the cruise does nothing.

I have never even heard of one going bad. Driving that far old school has my leg very sore.

    6000 miles out of warranty

Anyone else have one go bad?

Talk to the dealership, they might do the right thing and help you out. Might be worth a shot.

Check your lights for any that have burned out.

On 2nd Gens this would be the clockspring in the steering wheel.

I’ve had the cruise quit workin with snow built up on the grille. But I got a message pop up that said the TSS wouldn’t function.

There is an overide cruise control with the TSS , holding down the cruise button a couple of seconds will put it in regular cruise. My TSS acts up all the time.

I thought TSS came out with the '18 M/Y... OP has a '17.

WRT clockspring, I suppose other buttons on the steering wheel may not be working - worth a quick check.

Also, are there any other indications on the instrument cluster (CEL)?

Radar cruise is a nuisance. I always hold down the button for manual cruise

Did you run an obII reader on it to check for codes? That would be my first action. Other than that I would go to your dealer. Could be anything from a sensor to something much more expensive. If you are like me I use cruise everywhere but city driving so you might have to bite the bullet and pay the dealer.

I have a 2017 SR. Adaptive cruise? Radar what? Lol

I have a spare cruise switch I am going to put in. If that doesn't work, I am going to have to further diagnose. I have just not heard of any others having this problem.

Did you check if any fuses were blown? The dash light probably isn't powered from the same fuse...

Most likely a clock spring, an advanced scan tool or a volt meter with wiring schematic are the only way to tell.

There is no longer a seperate power circuit for cruise control since the electric throttle plate became common place.

I replaced the CC switch in the setting wheel and it now works. Everything else worked. No fuses were blown and all the other dash lights were fine.

    Weird.

    Nice!

    Totally not weird, considering:
