I believe the install is the same as the full size mount just less holes to be drilled but yes drilling the (hidden) dash piece is required

It's a cool position and the ball definitely is solid since it's fastened on both sides with a plate. I know some people just drill a single hole for the ball mount but I can see more chance of failure. I gotta finish up a my final thoughts. I just tried recording on my new little dji osmo pocket and there's no tripod mount. Hopefully it comes through ok. lol

You have a 2nd gen... these were designed for 3rd gens.
Go to the first post of this thread and click on the link or go to It mounts in the groove between the dash and radio bezel.

 

Drilling IS REQUIRED but it’s minor and invisible from anyone unless you’re looking for it.
The installation process is identical to the which you can see except you only need 3 holes.

 

I picked up my single mount yesterday from @FreshMexicanTaco and I look forward to mounting it to hold my Ham Radio mic. I should have it installed sometime in JAN/FEB once I get the radio, antenna, cable, and tailgate mount in hand. Many thanks to FMT for the offer and meeting me after hours on his own time. I hope to get the heritage grille from him in the next month or so as well.

Got mine today too but traveling tomorrow so won't be able to install until after the holidays.

 

Those of you who have bought this already probably know this but installation is the exact same process as the DMM, which you can see a video on here, just line up the DSM to the driver side corner
