So I think I have a location picked out for the air compressor under the hood. The problem is, I will lose the cruise control and I really don't want to if at all possible. Relocation is therefore the only option. My question however, is the cable replaceable on the CC unit? If it is, then I might be able to have a longer one made which would give me better options for retaining the CC in a new location.

 

I believe it is. Just pull the cover off and it should be removable

 

Yeah, just use the picker on the front hook to pull it up after loosening the mounts and swap em out and set it back down. Takes like 10mins per side if you are using stock style rubber mounts

 

Hi, I just finished my project , I installed a custom front hitch for a removable Winch to use it in front and rear.. also as you can see, I installed a 2016-2018 tailgate on my Tacoma 2001 DC "Prerunner" CONVERTED to 4WD 5 speed MANUAL transmission. 10" low profile Pioneer subwoofer

So I thought I fixed my water leak, but I didn’t. I think it’s better now but still leaking. I had wires running on the out of the rubber boot in the fire wall on the driver side. I cut the wires and ran them through the boot and sealed them with silicone so the boot would sit tight in the hole like normal. But water is still seeping around the boot. Any ideas on how to seal it better? Silicone around the boot too?

 

That's what I would do, short of replacing the boot. If you can even get one.

 

Would you recommend stock OEM Replacement, aftermarket stock replacement, or like a Polyurethane (if one exists)?

I’m trying to get rid of the excessive vibration haha.

 

And? If you don't want that then go with OEM replacements.

OEM/aftermarket OEM is your only choice then. Poly motor mounts of any kind are going to have more vibration than stock.

Missed that part. Have you visually inspected your existing motor mounts to see if they are broken or cracked. Mine, even with 317k miles and a completely broken trans mount when I got it are still fine from what I can see.

 

I have not. I assumed they’d need to be replaced by 100,000 miles.

My transmission mount I literally found on the ground of the junkyard, so who knows the history behind it.

 

Finished up my tire carrier it’s not perfect but it works for me

 

I have poly mounts and love them but they probably aren't for you. Just get some stockers. The 4cyl has some goody harmonics at slow speeds so with any mount they won't be perfect, with the poly you don't feel the engine at idle but it sorta buzzes at higher rpm and with rubber you feel the slow speed stuff but the higher rpm is quiet and smooth
