Just because they haven't ripped apart doesn't mean they're still good

It vibrates at Idle in Drive. For example, I was at the drive though today and I would have to put it in Neutral because the Vibration was so bad. In Neutral and Park the vibration goes completely away.

TC is known to be good. It’s my original torque converter from the A340E.

The stall speed is 300-400 RPM different between the A340E and A340F.

That's normal, it's a four cyl and it's being stressed cause it still has to fight the TC in drive with your foot on the brake. New mounts might lessen it a bit maybe, but it's normal

    I added in an edit:

Maybe it could be the torque converter. I’m running the A340E torque converter in my A340F. The transmission shop told me the stall speed was 300-400 RPM different. They advised against using it during the original flexplate dillemna.

Now that you mention that, my moms highlander does the same thing. In drive, at idle, it sounds and feels all vibratey. Put in park, smooth as can be.

I’m probably gonna go to a dry filter. The oiled filter is f’ing up my MAF with Carbon.

Just do what I did, bypass the filter for organic air.

I guess it is normal then. That coupled with the old mounts.

Another thing that adds to it is the lock rods rattling against the sheet metal. I should Dynamat the cab.

Dynamat is nice, makes everything feel like quality, don't over do it though in the doors or you'll ruin your sound systems mid and bass response haha

People always use it wrong. They cover the whole cab in it when you only need to use a few squares placed strategically around.

Someone explained it to me like ringing a bell and putting your finger on it to stop the resonance. There is zero difference between the sound if you used your finger versus covering the bell with your hand.

I just shoved duct wrap wherever I could without ripping out the entire carpet. Made no difference at all. Need to finish the back wall sometime too.

The floor is pretty sturdy, the roof makes a bigger difference noise level wise, back wall too. Also that duct wrap isn't mass loaded vinyl so it doesn't work all that well anyway

You're probably oiling it too much. IMO they also come over oiled from the factory. I don't have a problem with my MAF getting covered in oil. After washing, I oil the filter, then blow out any excess oil caught in the mesh then let it sit overnight so the oil soaks in tbe element. Then I'll add more oil the next day if I feel it's needed and repeat.

Yeah sounds like a long process but I always have a stock air filter on hand cause I'll only use stock filter elements whenever my truck sees dirt.

I only use the K&N drop in cause it came in the stock airbox I bought for $40. Saves me money on filter replacements daily driving on the street which is all tbey're good for on a Tacoma. If I didn't have it I would never even buy one. My truck came with a full K&N FIPK. I sold that rice sounding crap & got good money from some sucker on ebay.

You really losing your ass over air filter replacements? $12 for a real paper filter beats buying a new engine or MAF from a filter that can barely keep out sand let alone finer particles.
