Sorry to hear that, but at least he's got someone to make sure he lives the dream during the time he has left.

@Pugga Sorry to hear about your dog! Cherish the time you have remaining!

I had a fun day today. I've got a set of floor mats from my Mom's Forester for sale on FB Marketplace for $20 just to make a few bucks, because why not. I get a message Friday night from someone asking me about them, then asking me my location, which is odd since it's literally in the title of the ad. I tell him that Saturday is bad but I'm free Sunday. He proposes 10 AM, so I say fine, suggest the Lowes in West Bridgewater since it's right off 24 and it's easy. He messages me on Saturday to confirm, and then goes 20? Again asks for the address. (Facepalm). Messages me this morning at like 9:15 and says he's leaving in 10 and asks the address for a 3rd time. I said Lowes in West Bridgewater and he wants me to spoonfeed him the actual address. I play nice and send him the physical street address. He then says I'll be there in 45 (this is at 9:25) and I said great, see you at 10 (knowing he'd be 10 minutes late).

I load up the wife and baby since I had other errands to run. At 10:15 I message him asking him where he is and he just responds on the way. I said how far away are you, expecting that he's 5 minutes out. No, he's 20 minutes out. I tell him I've got places to be and apologize and leave. He replies again simply 20 and I said I've already left. All I get back is "f you". So not worth my time. The problem was (as anyone who has kids knows) is that the baby slept for the 30 minutes we were in the car which meant her whole schedule was trashed for the day and she was an absolute nightmare.

The kicker, six hours later I get a message that says "mother-effer I go there for nothing". Like, you picked the time, and I waited almost 20 minutes for you, not my problem.

Amy's sick of listening to me grumble about this, as are my friends, but that one grinds my gears a bit. I took the high road and didn't respond, especially since it was via FB, but the entitlement of some people are nutso.

Just FYI, it is NOT worth it to sell anything online for under $40ish. 90% of the people will end up being like that, or want the thing for free.

Eh, I've had really, really good luck in the past, TBH. This is the first time in a long time I had a no-show. I'm usually pretty good at weeding through the BS.

Plus $20 is $20 when it comes to the mod fund for the truck. With the small human, holidays and house projects funding for my truck is few and far between. I just wish it wasn't through FB simply because it links to my real name. Doesn't let me crank the snark nearly as much.

I value my time, and for me, answering a bunch of emails and driving to meet anyone automatically takes over an hour plus a couple gallons of gas and then I've LOST money. Usually at the $20-$50 dollar range people are looking for deals and it's a huge PIA to just get a straight sale, and have to go through a bunch of idiots inquiries which takes a few minutes each. At least that's my personal results. I've had some really pathetic interactions with people, and it's been very frustrating a few times. One time I sold old polaris ranger axles to someone super super cheap and they thought one was too scrapped up looking after they got home and tried to make me buy them a brand new one. People are fucking insane, and $20 isn't enough for me to deal with that shit.

I get that cash is tight right now, and in the city it's probably a lot easier to get rid of things quickly. However, if it isn't as easy as pulling into a CVS on my way home and only takes me an extra 10-20 mins, I don't think it's worth it for $20. I actually have a ton of little things right now I don't want and need to get rid of, I think I'm going to do a full blown tag sale when I move in the spring and can get it all organized.

    Im on the same page.
I gave a boat to a close friend after I got sick of dealing with trying to sell it.
I dont even bother a lot of stuff.
Either my wife sells it, or, it ends up at goodwill/salvation army/other.

    Good morning all

Me too. Typically anything that is still in good condition and usable goes to goodwill. I've tried selling on a few boards and its nothing but a hassle. Matter of fact, I have a log splitter that I will have to do something with and lament over the hassle of CL.

This^^^ 60$ or more I’ll sell it. 20-50 I’ll hold onto for a bit incase a friend wants it. Under 20 I just put in the front yard with a sign free and it’s gone by the evening

Guys I think we need to have a big "Taco Tag Sale" everyone can unload their built up supplies. More people selling, more people show up!

When selling stuff I always use the beer scale..
if it’s only worth 2 beers I’d rather just buy two beers if it’s worth 5 or more we are talking.
If it’s worth a weekends worth of beer i have time

I also always just sell from my house with the doors closed and a lead catapult attached at the hip.

    I've done both.

When I was in Raleigh I did a deal in the middle of a CVS right in front of cameras and the guys used partial counterfeit money. Cops never did shit and I was out a couple hundred dollars. All public places do is knock down the chances of being openly robbed, but if someone wants to be a scumbag they are gonna be a scumbag.

Exactly I show a few apartments that I own every year or so so I have no trouble with strangers. I typically sort them pretty good over email/phone then choose to have them come in a way where I see them for like 20ft before actually shaking my hand. Only had one real sketchy situation where like 5 dudes got out of a shit box car at once.

@mach1man001 late to the party on this comment, but I also noticed how my ps wasn’t at its full potential. How did you make out with that pump after draining the res and replacing fluid?

I'm actually quite surprised at how much better it feels. It's not perfect but it is probably about 90% better and that is only from 1 reservoir worth of fluid being exchanged. I'm going to do it again sometime this week. I had just wanted to drive around for a week so that the new fluid would get all throughout the system

IMO the method you used to refresh the PS fluid is better than trying to remove the lines to the pump to try an get every drop replaced. There is a zero% chance you will have a problem using your method as opposed to the other way.

Uughh...I am 100% sure after watching the game last night that this must be Brady's final season and the pats are screwed next year...he was AFRAID last night. All 3 of his passes on that final drive were high because he was ducking away as he threw the ball. The final throw of the game was the worst. From the fly cam behind him you can see Edelman is open, there are no defenders between Brady and Edelman and it's a straight shot 20 yard laser to him and he can fall backwards into the endzone...Instead Brady shies away from the rush and falls back to the ground as he throws (like a 5 year old does when he's making a throw to home in little league and launches a grenade throw to the pitchers mound)...It left the pass high (about the 8th off target high pass...That was a truly pathetic offense that did nothing to reward a defense that only gave up 17 points in spite of the turnovers...
go to 10:36 and watch him dive to the ground...
