I had a set, they were by far the worst tires I've ever owned. Maybe they'd be okay for a pavement only type of person. Mine wouldn't stay balanced, chunked in the tread blocks easily, had abhorrent wet and dry traction. They were flighty in gravel as well. They did good in snow though, so there's that at least. They're entirely too heavy for a light truck and you'll notice that almost all sizes only offer e rating which contributes to their overall weight and harsh ride. Mine did not wear evenly despite my alignment being checked regularly (after every wheeling trip). Lastly, they're just plain over priced for how mediocre they are, if they were a $110 a piece I'd have no complaints. But theyre expensive even in baby sizes like 265/75/16. My advice, if you're an onroad kinda guy get some Michelin LTX in P or C rating. If you like to venture off-road regularly maybe consider some nicer mud Terrains and a switch to 17" wheels so you have more tire options in c and d ratings rather than the way too heavy and still e ratings that most companies offer for 16" wheels.

Good to know. It was between those and the Dura’s, so guess it’s narrowed down now.

The Duras have great traction but are famous for blowing out their sidewalls easily. So I'd just watch where you place your tires in obstacles. Sharp rocks while aired down could be hazardous.

I’m also looking for the right offset on a set of 17’s to allow the balance of size and performance without spacers. That hunt requires a lot of research on my part.

You okay with tire poke or no? You might need around 4.5" BS to clear a 33 to the frame.

IMO, if you've never taken a sawzall or angle grinder to a brand new $40k vehicle, you haven't lived.

    To each their own, though!

Sometimes the manufacturers just don't make a vehicle like someone wants. Sometimes you have to make what you want. Also, sometimes people actually know enough about what they are doing they aren't really throwing caution to the wind. You can cut and weld on a truck properly.

Simple example: Bolt on vs. Weld on sliders.... weld on done properly will be stronger, won't get loose, and doesn't create crevices for corrosion.

Not sure how much “building” you can do without tools. You are turned off by things that weld on, requiring grinding, and even bolt on in the case of wheel spacers.

You should say “I like new tires, OEM spec wheels and sticker builds.”

I don’t have an affinity for stock anything. My point of this thread is I’m looking for people who build their truck without doing any permanent alterations that are irreversible. Or at least the minimal irreversible alterations. Outside that, sky’s the limit.

Not at all. Not saying others can’t drill a hole through every door, just not my shit. Looking for those who have done builds with minimal to no irreversible alterations.

I refuse to cut anything that can't be quickly and cheaply replaced.

So that limits alot of what I can do.

No wire cutting, no body cutting, no frame cutting.

If it bolts on, then I'll think about it. I want a winch but I'm not willing to cut my bumper.
I want bigger tires, but will not cut the frame.

I have cut 2 things on my truck, the A pillars covers ($40) and a small plug in the floor pan. Both are cheap and fast to revert.
