In Canada Hyundai throws out crazy good deals in the spring. When we bought our Sonata back 5-6 years ago they sold us a Sonata for the price of an Elantra (promotion from the dealer on a few models) and Hyundai Canada wrote down her loan to zero percent interest lol. It’s hard not to be into that deal, IIRC we paid 20k OTD for a car that stickered for a hair over 25k.

I remember when Hyndai came out in the '80's. I was working my first job and one of my co-workers got a new one. We did everything to break that car and it still held up. We thought it was cool to lay down donuts in the parking lot and do "2nd gear scratches" in that thing. Back then it went for $5k for a new car (if memory serves me well) when everyone else was at $8k or so.

Hyundai changed the market when they started their 100,000 mile warranties. No one was doing that. They pretty much changed the industry with that. Very interesting company, but I've never owned one.

Crap? No, I would say not. They are more budget-friendly.

I buy cars for the long-term and want a minimum of aggravation along the way.
Overall, yes. American auto makers are getting away sedans due to demand. Annectodally, look around on the road, Asian sedans seem to be doing quite well.

Limited experience with LG, but I wouldn't give up my OLED TV without a fight and my washer/dryer are at 11+ yrs without any issues.

Not to derail, I've had NO problems with LG ever with any product.. Also no problems with Samsung.

Hyundai either seems to be people love them or hate them I never get a lukewarm or meh feeling from people about them. My wife loves hers and I've grown to hate it hopefully it'll be a good car long term with reliability its just about to turn a year old. Her next car will be a minivan she claims... I'm not going anywhere besides a Sienna on that one ;)

Do you even have a choice anymore? I thought the only true mini vans left are from Honda and Toyota, everyone else is just making CUVs now.

Thats what the reliability reports are saying. We took the risk on one and hopefully it is so. I have noticed most of the people I know that are Hyundai owners are very loyal once they buy one. The thing that I've wondered is it seems that they don't keep their cars as long as other brands like 5-7 years instead of 10+. I've wondered if thats because when it is time for larger repairs it isn't justifiable because of their low resale value.

I’m a Toyota fan (obviously) but the wife loves Honda’s. She wanted a Civic but the Accord LX was the same price and so we went with that. It’s only been 6 mo the with it but it’s been a fantastic car. I am vacationing at my folks and in-laws house and on the 1300 mile roardtrip we had to get here, it averaged 42 MPG.

My wife has gone miles on this beast and she loved it. She finally convinced me to get her a new one so here is her old ride up for sale.

It was treated very well, only a few dings on it. Nothing like soaring around town on it doing the misc errands and such. I never seemed to
get the handle on how to drive this...it might be a guy thing! We hate to see it go, but onward and upward. Please make an offer.

    Yeah.
Agree that the Korean autos have improved in quality, but I still don't like Hyundai for some reason and prefer Kia. Maybe it's the interior, maybe just something about the way they drive. Kias feel right, Hyundais not so much. That said, the price difference has also narrowed, so I would still stick with a Toyota. Bought my youngest daughter a used Corolla S, neat little car.
