Just rereading the release on this... Why the exception for Clark, Cowlitz, and Wahkiakum counties? Is it a Portland thing? Something along the Columbia more generally?

Edit: I'm an idiot and browsed the top half, evidently.

Are you referring to 9 RCW 41.60, the paragraph titled "Exceptions to the prohibition of concealed carry of pistols"?
The statute also cites "bonafied outdoor activity". Walking down the street is an outdoor activity in my opinion.
In my opinion nothing in that statue permits carry of a loaded pistol in a vehicle. Better to have a concealed pistol license.

Exceptions to restrictions on carrying firearms.

The provisions of RCW 9.41.050 shall not apply to:

    (8) Any person engaging in a lawful outdoor recreational activity such as hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, or horseback riding, only if, considering all of the attendant circumstances, including but not limited to whether the person has a valid hunting or fishing license, it is reasonable to conclude that the person is participating in lawful outdoor activities or is traveling to or from a legitimate outdoor recreation area;

I'd even argue ORVing is a lawful outdoor recreational activity. :notsure:

I'm not a lawyer so it's up to your interpretation not mine.

It would be an argument but I'd wager you'd be making it in court and not on the side of the road since the examples all have the individual in the outdoors and not inside of a vehicle. Easier to ccw or separate the ammo from the gun while in the vehicle.

Congrats, glad you could squeek in before the door closed. And no need for the gun talk to die down, the only thing that gets me through most boring days at work is gun porn and truck porn, it's even better when I can get both in the same place. Having to stick around for 8 hours a day regardless of how much work there is to do can get old, especially with one week left until the holiday shut down we aren't exactly cranking up the workload.

We use the honey app to track the cheapest price on Amazon for the same thing. Pretty weird how much the price can vary from week to week or seller by seller.

    Yes, actually.

Aside from trucks and guns, anyone in here got any other hobbies? What kind of winter/long term projects y'all have going on?

I'm also really into cars, mostly Audi/Porsche. Due to a lack of free time due to other priorities I hadn't had a "fun" car for a couple years, but I recently decided it was time to get something to tinker with again. I was initially looking for another 911, but I wanted one with a blown engine to do a motor swap in. I decided I don't quite have enough available free time for a project of that size yet, so I abandoned that plan for now. Instead, I ended up "adopting" a friends 4.2 A6 that has been sitting for a few years.

I actually did most of the initial build of this car almost 9 years ago, so I know all the modifications are done well. It needs some TLC, but nothing too crazy. Mostly it just needs some deferred maintenance addressed and some cosmetic restoration. The big issue is the transmission, which is starting to slip under load. It should just need a new valve body, but if that isn't the case I'm going to attempt an manual transmission swap, which hasn't been done to one of these as far as I know.

Here's the old girl in her current state:

This is what it looked like back in its prime:

Although I should probably fix the mechanical issues and get it back on the road before I start buying other parts for it, I couldn't pass up a deal on some new wheels, so I picked these up this weekend:

I really just find myself trying to fly fish and bird hunt in my free time. Camping and those things seem to co-exist with each other. I’d like to get a new car next year, I’ve wanted a new Mustang for a while but I think we’ll probably just end up getting my lady a new car next year probably a new Outback. We have dogs so we pretty much have to both have dog friendly cars.

Here’s a pic from this weekend of my girl looking proud of herself from the days hunt, there’s not much else out there that makes me happier than watching her do her thing. 84CCDF15-3890-4CCE-B3FC-5C20F1B51DE6.jpg

And really my only ongoing project this winter is continuing to teach Rebekah how to fly fish, because if she knows how to do it and enjoys it, that means I’ll just get to go out and do it more often! DC7D154B-B3C0-49A3-B852-9826E98A8A9C.jpg

    Did this from 1995-2001

Attempting to be a parent, I switched to four wheels.

Did the Uber super sedans; lurking from 2006 until 2010 due to pricing depreciation.
Picked up a used 2003 RS6 in 2010 at a tiny used shop near Hollywood, CA.
Prior owner was some famous artist/painter/designer (I didn't GAF).
36K miles when I got it, sold it three years later with 68K.
Everything to repair or replace on that was $1000.

I'll see if I can find a photo or two of that car...

switched to the Tacoma whereas I don't care if I get a scratch on it or dirty.
