It was nice. South of moab about 5 minutes. I did like having a hot shower every morning!
I think when we go back in the spring it will be a camping trip, start down in canyonlands then work our way up to moab.

There are plenty of trails around GJ too, like 30 minutes drive even. I took it for granted when I lived there :bananadead:

I would almost consider moving back but there are no jobs that are even close to what I do lol

Prices are coming up pretty quickly though, it's becoming a hot spot for Californian retirees and front range refugees.

Yeah, I've been kicking around 5.29s and 4.88s in my head. Aaron says I won't have to worry about breaking the 5.29s as long as I stay on 35s...

    hahahaha if you're lucky :p

I think I will be bold enough to try doing my own gears, it seems tedious above all else.

When I purchased the truck the throwout bearing was chirping. About 5 years ago I had the clutch replaced...after a while the chirp came back and it has continued to chirp for years. As of last week it's making a growling/grinding noise when the clutch is disengaged between gears so I just ordered stuff to replace the clutch again.

Not gonna tear it all the way down and not replace the clutch when it's not substantially more expensive than the throwout bearing alone :annoyed:

Well, 4 of the bell housing bolts were finger tight. The TDC one is missing completely.

I got all 4 as tight as I could and greased the fork and it's a lot quiter and there no vibration. I'm guessing the pilot bearing and input bearing were not happy with the motor twisting when the clutch was engaged.

It does sound like there is some bearing noise when the clutch is engaged in neutral still.

I don't really want to drop the trans so I'll see how it goes.

I also fixed the seat mount, when I put these 4runner seats in I didn't pay attention to the fact that one of the legs was longer than the Tacoma seat. It caused it to sit at an angle and would give me hip and back pain when I drove a lot. Hopefully this helpsIMG_20181215_195423.jpg IMG_20181215_195456.jpg IMG_20181215_204108.jpg

With a new clutch and a better seat you should be able to keep up when we go back to Moab....

So I've been warned that these factory tow hooks are weak, but after bashing it on rocks at Moab and in CO the frame and 1/4" bumper mounting plate gave way

@Mojlnir After spending all day in the truck yesterday I don't feel like I fell down the stairs like I usually do so I suppose it was worth the hour I spent correcting the seat :luvya:
