I don’t physically fit well in the truck with a sunroof, so I need that extra headroom without it. I wanted the premium package but it wasn’t worth giving up headroom for leather and a sunroof. I had one in my WRX never used it, and the heated seats I can add myself (leather too). Only thing I will miss is the dual climate control, unfortunately that can not be easily added.

Yes, this + not having a moonroof was a deal breaker.

Regulars know my opinion - get the OR. In my little opinion, the PRO is a way for dealers an Yota to make more money on suckers. Butt for every seat.... I have Sport and love it and I am not modding for offroad use - work truck. Looking back, you get the best bang for your buck on the OR, especially if your are romping it or going to mod it. Would I trade my truck for a OR, nope, but next round may consider it.

$13,495 to be exact. It's a way over priced for the upgrades you get, but if money is no object, they are the best looking stock Tacoma

For me it's just something I don't really use much so the loss of headroom is more of a negative than being able to open the roof. I have one so I use it but if I didn't have it I wouldn't miss it.

I have had 3 vehicles where the sunroof leaked (drainage backs up). Just don't use them enough to justify the extra maintenance headache. One of their issues is that they don't tolerate debris well. Oak pollen will ruin anything and everything that requires proper drainage (air vents, plenum, rockers, etc.). I have had 4 people I know who have had the new and mysterious "exploding sunroof". All have claimed that there was no strike point and it happened out of the blue on a sunny day. I have a theory about tensile glass and temperature differential, but it's just that... a theory. For something I might open once or twice a year? Nope. The Pro had that going for it as a low to no mod option. That's gone.... but you can get a snorkel! I like the Pro and gave the 2018 some serious thought... but I wasn't ready to be bent-over for the "rarity" dealers were imparting on mediocre color options (white/black/grey/and new Calvary Blue).

If I could have afforded a pro at the time I bought mine I would have bought one no questions asked. BUT I’m super happy with my OR trim. I have most of the pro items on it already but I’m eventually going to buy some pro fox’s But I’m in no rush. Not sure why everyone shits on 3rd gens so much lol but I couldn’t be happier with my truck, and how the ownership experience has been.

The 17 and 18 Pro didn't have a Sunroof if he was referring to that.

I only got a pro because I found a good deal on a leftover. It works for me since I knew it would be a while till I did any major suspension upgrades. Unfortunately I have multiple expensive hobbies and upgrades on the truck don't always come first. Figure out what you plan to do and the time frame you want to do it in then decide off of that. If you want to immediately build it get the OR, if you're going to leave it stock for a while get a pro if you can swing it. Just my opinion.

The Pro is just WAY cooler than an OR. Really no comparison.

that's what i was thinking. The one thing i don't like about the dclbs is that they appear to have less rake since the frame extends longer. no bueno

Is this enough rake, or does it need more?
