It's what its for. I bought it with the intention of taking it to as many places as possible. So far so good.. little snag having the engine die but it'll continue on

Rings went in 3 of the 4 pistons, so it burns through a liter of oil per tank of fuel, lol

shit. any reason why? anything you can recommend for me to keep mine going as long as possible?

the old engine ive ever rebuilt was a 90s SBC.... aka the worlds easier engine to work on ever.

Bad design is my leading theory, Toyota had a bunch of oil consumption issues with late model camary, corolla and matrix cause they all used the same engines. They replaced the pistons and rings on thousands of vehicles.. theres a growing number of 2.7s with this same issue just not enough people have reported it to Toyota for them to look into it. Only thing you can do is maintenance and hope it doesn't happen.. I maintained the shit out of my truck and it still did sooo ya. Also there is most likely a milage cap so if they did issue a TSB high milage trucks would be excluded.

Coolant temp would likely serve you better! Just a thought though. Hope all goes well with your rebuild man!

Unless you plan on going forced induction in the future, youll likely get more use out of the coolant gauge. The toyota one is an absolute joke. Doesnt even budge till its over 220*

Ya mine didn't move even after being over 2L down on coolant or when all but 1L of oil blew out the exhaust and the temps were most likely in the danger zone lol ... This might be a good call ... As fun as a supercharger would be it's not gonna happen.. I'll get 37s before I get a supercharger

I have an LCE header, and an aFe v6 axle back exhaust modified to fit. I think it sounds a lot better than the magnaflow I welded in a few years ago.

Yaaa I've seen the afe exhausts. I'd crush them on a rock... I liked the magnaflow cause it Tuck's up high and dumps by the axle like the OEM exhaust I modified. Except the b pipe wouldn't be crushed on the new one lol

Yes if you go back like 18 pages you'll see I cut mine and squished it a bunch. OEM style has long left the building lol
