So all I need to do is insert some 5/8" weather stripping behind the existing door seal? I don't mind paying for the $50 part, but I have a hard time with all these dealers and ebay sellers assuming I need $15 express shipping - not paying $65 for just a single seal.

Mine leaks right at the drivers side top corner, B-pillar - very apparent in the rain as I hear on coming traffic whizzing past on my left (when the window is up). When I have the stereo at low volume, I can hear the bass causing an air leak right at that same location as well. I also have a squeak noise in cold weather from that location, which sounds more like a constant rattling noise.

Mine used to make a kazoo/leaking noise in wind scenarios, but now it doesn't make any noise perhaps because its elongated even more.

    Hey OP:
Did you find any tubular foam or rubber behind the seal in addition to the new weatherstripping?

The dealer says they replaced mine (don't have the repair order yet because I am waiting for some additional repairs). It looks like I have the new design on the weatherstripping with the 1/8-inch rubber bead, but I also found a length of 3/8 fuel line packed behind the seal. Now I am trying to figure out if they actually replaced the seal, or just added the tubing! Trust but verify!

I have this problem. I complained back when the truck was under warranty and the denied it, because they need it to reproduce the noise and the techs won’t drive over 65 mph...I’ll try again since now they have a TSB..
    Thanks for sharing.

I just took the service manager for a ride. It took two windshield replacements to get it right.

You mean they replaced the windshield twice before figuring out it was the door seals?

Thank you to all the guys that did the leg work on this. I sincerely appreciate it. I'm taking the TSB so the dealer cant come up with an excuse.

Next up? Making the dealer acknowledge that the adhesive on the 5th gen. 4 runners comes loose and makes the hood flex like its made of paper, but that's another story. ;)

Mine was the windshield seal. The original design had a large flap that acted like a reed. Different tsb

Anyone replace theirs with the Toyota parts themselves? $150 is kinda steep but if it fixes the problem...

Curious to see more photos of the self-fix.

Why bother replacing the entire seal, when you can grab this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NL4AATS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1 and just wedge it in between to fill the void like others did?
    For less than $20.00

Appreciate the link. Was also wondering about that solution.

    Where do we shove it?

    Thanks.

I am also curious if there is a solution here. Is there a part number? My 13' is starting to whistle on the highway with a crosswind. I will buy the Amazon link and report back.

I think my truck has both. same as others the did not replicate it so I just dealt with it. I need a new windshield anyway. Curious if half of it will get fixed.

I tried my dealer twice to look into the tsb. Nothing. I have replaced my windshield twice - rock chips. I Think I will do the home fix posted above. Cheers

I still don’t get it where this goes?

My kazoo sound happens in high cross winds on my passenger side mirror, only.

Have got an upcoming SoCal->NorCal drive coming up and would like to avoid this occuring if possible.

    Thanks.

I ran mine all the way from front corner, to back corner on top. Sticky side to the door.

I agree, would love to see some pics here. Do you have a part number or link for Lowes?
