THIS is exactly what is happening in this thread.

I just can’t tell if OP is Nigel, or if WE are Nigel. So I’m just gonna wait around to see what the fuck is happening. OP is right though. I read the words. I just don’t understand the end game.

Amateur hour. Those aren’t shots. Simply a bit of shit talk, which I am quite a fan of.

Not to belabor the point but I think most folks are taking issue with your use of the word "proper". If you want 37s on your truck the "proper" way to do so is cmc chop and plate and cut the wheel wells, it can be done to look nice still but it must be done to function. If you want all the travel your suspension is capable of you must cut and weld the mounts. You just want some mild bolt on stuff, that's fine, but that's just what it is. While it is "proper" for what it's trying to achieve it doesn't make any other options less "proper".

I used to think that as well. This is where fabrication comes in. My goal is admittedly going to be different than most. On the other side, this post will work out the growing pains.

I'm confused as to why OP created this thread. Seems kinda pointless.

I disagree* , if you make something for your truck to fit your needs that bolts on but involves a level of "fab" I'd call that building something.

    *I've cut some things though.

That'll probably save you a bunch of grief and is much less loaded.

With the exception of the front bumper valence I cut out, take a peek at my build VVV. I think you could get some ideas.

To sell stock, I would have to replace the gear shifter surround because of the switchpro hole, and replace the lower front bumper because of the winch insert. Everything else is reversible.

Thread makes more sense now. Before it was unclear that you were searching for other builds with those qualities to use as inspiration

You and I will get along famously. I’m gathering you have been given plenty of those judging by your prompt posting. You can do better. I’m more of a “fuck your feelings” kind of guy. If we are going to have fun with shit talk, as well we should, bring out the big guns.

No, downtime is over. Good luck with your "proper build"

I usually look at what people have done and try to figure out a way to do it without cutting or welding where possible. Some things have to be done, I gather. I just want to build mine with minimal changes to the trucks main components. Builds change over time, I don’t want to paint myself in a corner again.

@ResidentCarbon , what you doing with your truck? Curious what you are wanting to build towards.

Obviously I'm not a 3rd gen, but I definitely understand your want to not drill, cut, etc. Drilling through the cubbies in my bed has been the extent for me so far.
I really want to mount some L-Track on my Habitat, but .... that means drilling like 40 holes in it!! :annoyed:
