I recently bought my wife a nicer mid-range mirrorless digital camera for birthday/anniversary/Christmas (they're all within 2 weeks of each other). This camera has WiFi connectability to download photos to a tablet or smartphone. She's been using her phone for the last week or so, but I'd like to get her a tablet that has a great screen (resolution, contrast, etc.), has expandable storage, preferably runs Android (that is what she's used to), is portable, and costs under $250. Does anyone have experience using a device for this purpose? I don't care about internet connectivity, just looking for a tool that she can use while we're traveling to view her photos and store them on an SD card for transfer to our PC later on. Thanks!!

Edit: It can be an older model, just want to be able view photos well.

i use the samsung tab a 16gb for travel.

I have a sony so there's an app you can install that lets you view, download photos and control the camera, ie. remote control + other functions.

The only thing is your camera has to have the wifi point so the tablet can connect to it. It will let you download decent size jpegs but not the raw files. You would likely need an adapter (easy to find) so you can load your raw files onto your tablet and clear it out for use in the camera on longer trips with more photos.

If you're a costco member, you can get these for about $150 brand new sometimes.

Nice, thanks!! My coworker recommended the Samsung and mentioned Costco as well. Her camera is the Sony A6000 and she has the app on her phone, but I wanted to get her something with a larger screen and more storage. Thanks again.

A larger screen will cost you a bit more but you can expand the storage with an micro sd card which was one of your requirements. I popped in a 32GB card in mine so I can store extra movies/files when I am on the go. Good luck with whatever you end up getting.
