Getting to start all over :)
Probably because I got the cop out there, that place does not have such* a sign though. Either way its. Had I not gotten the cop he probably would have blown me off.

Fellow dog people, does anyone have a recommendation for books/articles/YouTube series on puppy training? This is my first puppy and we are trying to get as knowledgable as we can so we can help this little guy be the best he can. Just trying to get some tips and tricks for working on different things.

Honestly, the $100 training sessions (6total, 1 per week for an hour) at petsmart we’re super helpful. The trainer I had trained military and police dogs so he knew his shit.

One of the most helpful things I learned for a stubborn puppy is to not feed them in a bowl. Fill a bag with their allotted food for the day and make them learn silly commands and give them 3-4 pebbles of food each time they do something correctly. Then they associate pleasing you with getting food and typically learn faster

We did Petsmart training for our first dog a few years back and he did well, then did the $700 two weeks boot camp for our second dog about a year ago. Honestly, I should have just done the Petsmart training again.

I use methods similar to Cesar Milan. The whole pack leader deal. And training that is along the lines of service dogs. I am lucky in that my aunt and uncle showed, trained, and bred german shepards as well as shelties and they are a great source to work from. Positive reinforcement and doing what @Dangerdave said with the food works wonders for tricks and basic commands. Leash training is a big one too from what I've been taught and the way I handle a dog on the leash is they need to walk beside or behind and you control the walk not them. So when you decide when to let them have more lead for going potty etc. A lot of this also depends on the dogs temperament some dogs are just not the type to challenge their owners for top dog others will constantly.

Not yet its a City project that we are working on with them. As soon as they give us more to release we can get it out there. I'll know more in January at our next club meeting. In the meantime look up Midlands SORBA they are the big club in the area we are under them and Atomic Mountain Bikers (the Florence club) both on Facebook

Anyone in here had ko2s in the mud before?

Have them on my 1st gen but till I get the trans fixed I'm not driving it, thinking about throwing them on the new truck so I can get around the job easier. Stock tires seem lacking in the mud

My neighbor runs them on his hunting truck. He's been stuck a few times where my km2s made it through no problems but I think he does ok considering.

It certainly should be better than your stock highway tires.

Yeah we have been up there a good bit. We usually end up in Pisgah national Forest on some Forest road randomly. One of our favorite spots this time of year is the yellow gap road fsr in the Hendersonville area. There's good fishing right there, it's quiet, plenty of roads to explore and it's fairly close to a bunch of good short hiking trails. We've called around table Rock and it was beautiful so that's a plus. We found a few good open free campsites too. In winter there's plenty to choose from, which is the main reason we only camp in the colder months. We normally head to the upstate with no real plans and just stop on a service road and sleep when we get tired, how far we end up going depends on how awake we were haha.

Yellow gap and pink beds are perfect out there this time of year! I love the site in Pink Beds at the dead end road off of yellow gap road. Big site, right next to a beautiful river and plenty of fishing. Trail to the north is awesome with a good site but it quickly gets steep. Make it to the top and you get a beautiful night view of the lights of Brevard. Only downside up there is a lack of water. There’s only one spring and it’s slow moving

You should just start doing what MSO does and start guiding "overlanders" you could make a killing.
