Test drove a manual Nissan Pro4x. Liked the clutch and low end grunt of the motor. But the stick felt really odd, almost like the shift linkage was plastic...

Hopefully when I get the TSB update it'll make me happier. The Nissan was nice, but way too many lifter noise issues etc for me to switch.

The Frontier is half a decade overdue for an update anyway. Stick with the Tacos.

I’ve got 78,xxx on mine and it’s still going strong. There’s also probably around 5,000 miles of towing in that too.

We had manual Frontier, Ranger, and Hilux trucks overseas a few years back. Of all, the Frontier had the markedly better clutch and transmission. It was really enjoyable to drive. The Hilux was okay. The Ranger was garbage.

Hey glad you were able to get it knocked out and only one busted exhaust stud too!

You really should do the accumulator delete, completely changed the feel for the better, it made engagement much easier to modulate, everything was more consistent and got rid of the bit of slip I was experiencing.

I still need to get the stage two kit and considering the URD stainless throw out sleeve and hydraulic throw out bearing.

Wasn't even an exhaust stud, it was just a bracket bolt.

I got the stuff yesterday to do the accumulator delete. I'll get around to it shortly.

Fuck man.. Tuned, geared, URD clutch and accumulator delete. You'll have the most "sorted out" 3rd gen M/T around!

    Nice

I went to a parts store yesterday, the kid behind the counter kept bringing me bubble flare stuff lol.

Anyway, I gave up after he handed me a double female union - again with the wrong seat.

    Grrr

One would think that you have to have some sort of automotive knowledge to work at a parts store.

Yup zero issues. The MT pulls great. Usually I can cruise in 5th gear, rarely do I need to downshift to maintain speed. Typically average 12-15 mpg depending on what I’m towing. Seen 10 a couple times due to headwinds, hills, etc.

At a real parts store you do. Or rather, you wouldn't last long without it. Chain stores, Autozone, Advance Auto, Pep Boys will hire anybody with a pulse.

The drivers door sticker. From there, you either got to use Fusion OBD or TechStream. I'm working with the Carista folks to see if it will be show there also.

Since July I have an average of 15.3 mpg.

I got the TSB and it seems to be reverting back to its old weird ways.

So yeah I am in the same boat as you. I recently rented a F150 5.0 for a week and now am I even more disappointed with the Tacoma.
