Does the Tacoma have a "low windshield washer fluid" light in the instrument cluster?

If it was enclosed so you can't see it, then that's a good idea.

 

Maybe I should patent that idea.

Of the seven I owned, I can say that I did have one car that had it.
My '84 Fleetwood had both the washer sensor and the Auto-dimming headlights. Neither one of them worked though.

 

This is when the light would pay big dividends......

 

In Feb 2015 there were no 3rd gens on the road, so the light is clearly not needed.

 

The 2018 manual indicates a “Canada Only” installed system...

 

I've live in the northeast and have at least 10 vehicles and I dont remember 1 having a low washer fluid light.

 

Given some of the commonalities and stowed pigtails that we see, I wonder if there is a connector somewhere for those that want this sensor? Just order up a Canadian reservoir. That's no guarantee that the dash will display it though. Might have to probe / jumper the pigtail?

 

Does this mean that when I drive over the border into Canada, the Washer Fluid light will work? ...then stop working when I come back home?

TRD-OR, Access Cab, 6 Speed Manual & Windshield washer reservoir low level indicator!

 

I’m now working on a weight sensing device which will be installed in the TP holder... when appropriate “low level” weight is reached, an automatic Amazon order will occur with just-in-time delivery.

 

I think my first toyota only held 3/4 gallon. I know the 98 Tacoma I had also had a washer light as did the 2000.

 

I'd be the first to buy, but it won't solve anything. My wife still won't refill and just leave the new roll on the back of the tank. SAVAGES!

 

Wife's vehicle holds an entire bottle (gallon) and has an indicator... it needs to, because all you can see in the engine bay is the fill tube top cap.

 

The worst is when the empty plastic bag from the rolls is left by the toilet, there are two partially torn sheets left on the roll, and no one else is home. This is when all rolls are removed before they get home.

 

that needs to happen...especially when you go to a public restroom!
